sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Game Thread, Twins @ White Sox, 4/11 @ 1:10pm CT 411 that's information, right? There's some saying about how the beginning of wisdom is when you how much you don't. know, that is. It's to be Sunny with a high near 61, so they say... 0. What's the line up? Minnesota: Mike Pelfrey Pitches. 1-9? Chicago (in the white sox) Jeff Samardziga Pitchest. 1-9? 1. Escobar. He's played half our games. Congrats on the new family member! We'll miss you, but sometimes somethings are somewhat more important than baseball. Then my question would be, folk were dubious about him replacing Arcia in Detroit against a right hander. How do folk feel about that after the fact? Did the ends justify it? And what's more important than baseball? 2. Rest of the infield. Will Santana be better for the rest? Will Nunez get some playing in? And will anyone be able to get him out? 3. Rest of the outfield. Hunter stole that base! Is the ice on the basepaths broken? 4. (See Riverbrian's 4 from yesterdays' game thread.) I didn't give all the thread my full attention, but i didn't see anyone answer about the current rotation... I speculate he might have been satisfied with an answer of "Hughes, May, Gibson, Milone, Pelfrey" but maybe not. 15 degrees an hour? I think that's the earth's rotation, and no mound visit is likely to change it. or is current rotation a fancy name for that 3 phase electric power? Er... I know i should be asking about the bullpen, but they've seen low leverage situations predominantly, so i'm not going to ask. Yet. 5. Are people happier now that we won something? Is it good to get monkeys off our backs? Even Rally Monkeys? Announcers made a big deal about Hunter in Detroit, I wonder what he thinks of that rally monkey? And if the monkey's off, did it leave a chip on your shoulder? 6: You are number 6.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I'm having 2nd thoughts about attending the game today.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 6: You are number 6. I thought he was: http://www.movieactors.com/photos-stars/patrick-mcgoohan-theprisoner-2.jpg
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Early season prediction: Ventura (his team looks like a bunch of little leaguers) is the first manager fired this season and he'll be replaced by our own Gardy!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 I thought he was: http://www.movieactors.com/photos-stars/patrick-mcgoohan-theprisoner-2.jpgI was talking to him of course. I'm the new number 2... (Thanks for getting the reference. Though i'm pretty sure i've made the reference on a game thread before. Please let me know if i ever become a broken record...)

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I predicted that Pelfrey and Milone were going to make us wonder why we were worried about the 5th starter. Milone did his job. Pelfrey next today?
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I predicted that Pelfrey and Milone were going to make us wonder why we were worried about the 5th starter. Milone did his job. Pelfrey next today? I'm wondering how both will do against teams that aren't in team-wide batting slumps like the Whities. Don't get me wrong, I fully appreciated Milone's brilliant "stepping-into-the-breach" performance yesterday, but it wasn't exactly like he was shutting down the Tigers- the Sox have been sputtering from opening day. I expect the Shark to amp it up today- in his "hometown" debut. Hopefully Pelfrey can come close to matching him for at least 6 innings. The word is that Fien might be out again with shoulder troubles- time for some folks in the pen to step it up, as well.

The game to start. Time machines and rocketpacks would be kinda fun. I wonder what the time machine driver's license test would include?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Santana breaks his slump. (little flare to left falls in)
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 . I wonder what the time machine driver's license test would include? For the actual driving exam - you have to know how to change the oil on a Delorean - otherwise it is not that different than the regular driver's tests. The written portion does have more physics questions than the regular driving written test. I admit I had to retake that portion.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I made Santana my pick for this series without thinking about how he'd been hitting. Nice of him to get me a point today.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Finally, Santana gets a hit. Keep doing that, okay? Also, Joe Mauer is popping out a lot, which is unlike him...

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 I liked the stolen base too. Been a while since i watched the prisoner, but one of my favorite lines from the episode where they have elections in The Village. "Are you going to run?" "First chance i get!"
teekz Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Who is this guy and what did he do with Mike Pelfrey?
70charger Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Mlb.tv is telling me Pelfrey is consistently at 95 or 96 MPH. Is this real?
teekz Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Mlb.tv is telling me Pelfrey is consistently at 95 or 96 MPH. Is this real? That's what the TV radar gun is saying.

John Kelsey Verified Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Milone and Pelfrey stabilizing the rotation, as expected.
