I was struck by how balanced the mlb.com top 20 list is for the Twins.  Lots of ways to argue around the edges, but with Kepler, Buxton and Walker in the outfield, Sano, Gordon, Polanco, Rosario, Harrison, Vargas and Turner in the infield, the defense and offense is covered.  (This doesn't include Santana.)  Starting pitching looks strong with Meyer, Stewart, Berrios, May, Thorpe, Jorge, Gonsalves and Romero.  Burdi and Melotakis round out the relievers (along with Glen Perkins-like starters from above).

 

Turner is the only catcher, and outfielding is a bit thin.  Still, I think you could compete at the Major League level with that 20 and some fillers.

Pretty sure that team would fail miserably against MLB talent. Give it a few years, yes, probably a very good group of players up and coming, but some of those guys have a long way to go before they'd be ready to put on cleats with the boys of MLB.

 

But yeah, whoa, lots of talent. It's going to be fun watching them progress.

I'm not a fan of MLB's lists... just an FYI there. The Twins have a pretty balanced farm, which is good. I think the OF in the system is a bit light, particularly at the corners. Walker is far from a sure thing at this point. If the Twins can fix his contact issues though, he's going to be a stud.

Totally agree - strictly a hypothetical exercise.  "At some point in time, if all these guys progress..."

We certainly have enough prospects to fret and sweat over for the next few years
