Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Isn't watching twins baseball fun?Judging by recent game threads...no. No, it's not.
Guest Guests Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 It's a good thing Pinto and his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad receiving hasn't been catching the starters during this series or who knows what could have happened!!
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino 2m Aaron Hicks just hit a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the 7th for @RockCats, his 3rd homer at that level this year. My cheery news for the afternoon.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I lose just a tiny bit more hope for Arcia pretty much every day.

My cheery news for the afternoon. You have to take into account the level he is playing at. At AAA it would only be a 3-run shot, and in the majors a run-scoring double.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 A higher draft pick? A different manager? I don't want any more high draft picks. Look what harm they are causing Houston.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Hey, don't forget the jinx I put on him. I called him mediocre. We're all guilty, on occasion, of viewing Twins players through rose colored glasses.

ashbury Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I'm no Deduno backer, but that was a pretty curveball for strike 3. (Immediately after a 59-footer.)
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 "Deduno strikes out the side and leaves two men in scoring position." Pretty good summary of Deduno's style by our PBP guy.

ashbury Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Those were my jokes. Oh, give me hits, lots of hits under starry skies aboveDon't call me outLet me run through the bases of the ballparks that I loveDon't call me out Let me try for an extra base in the evenin' breezeAnd listen to the cheers of the crowd if you pleaseSend me off to Rochester but I ask you pleaseDon't call me out / tumbleweeds and such, you know
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Did my ears decieve me, or did Dick just vaguely intimate he wasn't thrilled with the idea of a sacrifice bunt? EDIT: deceive. "i before e, except after c, and when pronounced as an a, as in neighbour*, and weigh." *You know who you are.

"... except for my weird foreign neighbor Sheila." Also, if Einstein was so smart, how did he get the i-before-e rule wrong *twice*?
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 "... except for my weird foreign neighbor Sheila." Also, if Einstein was so smart, how did he get the i-before-e rule wrong *twice*? He was from a parallel universe where that's the norm and where the Twins are still in contention.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 whoops. And Plouffe still only ends up on third. This is a station-to-station team.

glunn Community Moderator Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Arcia seems to have a weakness for fastballs that are outside and high. And the Rays seem to be exploiting that weakness a lot.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Arcia seems to have a weakness for anything and everything, everywhere, all the time. And the Rays seem to be exploiting that weakness a lot.ftfy.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Every player on the Twins 40-man roster seems to have committed unspeakable crimes in past lives and is now suffering their karmic punishment. And the Rays seem to be exploiting that weakness a lot. ftfy. ftfy.
