Article: Trade Candidate: Kurt Suzuki

The O's are a pretty decent hitting team so I wonder if this means they are looking hard at Lester.  If they stand pat I don't see them winning the East.  Suzuki would have been a good get for them but I guess TR was asking for more than they were willing to pay in prospects.  I still think the M's are the dark horse here.  They are desperate for hitting and Suzuki would be a good fit there.  He could be a real difference maker for them.

I don't see the Ms having any interest. They are set at C and have about 3 guys, including Morales at DH already. What would they do with Suzuki? They wouldn't have taken on Morales if they planned on bringing in another guy to DH.

Yeah but the highest batting average their catchers have is .220.  I think .310 is an upgrade there.

Zunino is outstanding defensively and has 11 or 12 homers even with his low average.  I doubt Seattle is in.

Zunino has 16 HRs. Suzuki has been better overall offensively this year, but I don't see the Mariners considering him as a huge upgrade at this point, especially when you consider the defense.

Yeah looks like he is one of the only guys on their team that can hit one out.  He strikes out a ton though and seems somewhat of an offensive burden.  I think Suzuki's stats are better in every category except homers plus he puts the ball in play a lot more.  i know home runs are big but for a team that needs offense I would think a better BA, OBP and lack of SO would help a lot.

I guess with his defense and power it is a no way as they can't afford to lose the HR potential.  Man he only hits one once a week that seems like a lot to give up for a homer a week.

I guess that leaves the Dodgers then as about the only other place he could logically go at this point.  I haven't heard of any real interest from them though either. Hard to believe the best bat out there would not be wanted by someone.  I guess the price is too high for two months rental and the Twins don't want to deal him for just anything.
