I am reading your entertaining 5 points while sitting on my balcony in Beirut Lebanon, sipping a glass of the delicious local wine. It's not really war torn, but there are few Twins fans ... bout the same number as the number of suicide bombers. But absolutely no termites.

May Allah bless you and the camel you came in on.

Beirut is fine... Pennsylvania is a problem though. ;)

While Correia battles, I dipped into the Way Back Machine to July 2, 1967, when Da Boys of Bloomington swept a DH against the Senators, 4-1 and 6-1. Tony O and Bob Allison -- who I like to look up because of local connections, with Mr. Oliva marrying a girl from Hitchcock, S.D., and a Huron girl marrying Mr. Allison's son -- both did well. Tony went 1-4 both games, with an RBI in game 2. Bob walked twice and scored twice in game 1, then went 3-4 and scored once and knocked in one in the nightcap.

Other Twins connections: A former Twins owner lives a couple block up the street from me. And D. Hocking writes notes to us all on this board.

That is all.

On further review, the umpires finally admit that they made an incorrect call.

wait - "watching" on espn - did the Twins get 4 outs last half inning?

Can they get four outs every inning?

They originally called Fuld out on a stolen base attempt. The video review showed that he was actually safe, and they overturned the call.

Parms is doing his job but the two guys in front and the three guys after are not cooperating.

"[T]ermites are best eaten after being slightly roasted."

I'm thinking I'd wanna be more than "slightly" roasted if I'm gonna eat termites.

That makes sense.

Correia's being serviceable again, that's good!

Agreed. 6 innings and only giving up two runs... hard to be much better than that.

I'm aware that some pitchers can be better than that, but I'd still take that from a pitcher most days.

His ERA has now dipped below 5.00.

You know what that means for the next inning. Maybe Gardy will notice the pitch count and not try to squeeze another inning out of him to "save the bullpen", which, as Chief likes to point out, will not happen anyway when Corriea puts the first two batters on.

Come on, live a little.

I've never had termites before, but I wouldn't rule out trying it once.

You don't want 'em all dried out. You lose the texture!

In Arizona... Slightly roasted would be well done anywhere else... Correct?

Guerrier's in. Gardy's finally listening to me.

/ failed to mention which reliever I would prefer, now that I've got his attention

In Arizona slightly roasted is how they are born.

pfft. It's barely above 110 today.

Any mountain bikers in the audience? I'm thinking of getting my first, so I don't have much personal experience to fall back on. One question is wheel size. 26 or 29? (FWIW I'm 6'1" and 185 lb, and have pretty much decided on 21" frame.)

It's struggling to stay in the 70s here. At least I didn't sweat a bra when I walked the dog.

Sorry, buddy. I only know about road bikes. I'd suggest heading to a bike shop or REI and asking their opinion.

Yeah... Makes Sense... But it wouldn't be as funny as getting advice from us.

Done that. Three shops, three different recommendations. So I'm coming here to the experts.

/ edit: Brian's observation about what I'll get here also is accurate

I have a Bianci Grizzley that I bought almost 18 years ago. It's a 21" frame with 26" wheels. You have me by an inch, but I have you by 10 lbs. I used to do some serious boony bashin with it. I'm no serious enthusiast, but if you plan on riding on the road, I'd go with the bigger wheels.

Then I suggest buying the one that looks cooler.
