Modern Woodmen Park

Later in the month I am taking a road trip with some buddies to St Louis and KC. On Friday we plan to watch a Quad Cities River Bandits game at Modern Woodmen Park. It looks like a pretty cool park. Has anybody been there and have any recommendations on seats or things to do following the game?

The one game I was there, we sat in the first or second row, right behind the 3rd base dugout. The view was remarkable, with the bridge in the back ground. That was two years ago, when Sano and Rosario were with Beloit. At that time, and I assume still now, the home team is on the 3rd base side. I think it's a great ballpark. You'll really enjoy it!

You will really enjoy it- the Quad Cities park is the nicest minor league ballpark I've ever seen. I ate at the ballpark so I can't give recommendations for dinner but they do have Whitey's ice cream in the Quad Cities which is awesome and the breakfast buffet at the nearby casino was cheap. I don't know how long you are going to be there but there is also a boardwalk area where you can rent bikes and the Rock Island arsenal was pretty interesting. I like that area!

When the river's at high-water mark make sure to get seats several rows up. :)

The new attraction this year is a large ferris wheel just beyond the LF grass berm seating area. The light show that the wheel gives off once it gets dark is pretty impressive (and would seem to be distracting to hitters, but maybe not). When I'm not covering games there from the pressbox, I tend to sit down the first base line. Really aren't any terrible seats except in the very first row behind home plate. The netting is rather loose and if there's a breeze coming in from the river (which is not uncommon), you'll have the net pretty much in your lap and face. Neither comfortable nor particularly safe considering foul tips back to the net can also end up too close for comfort. Row 2 is just fine, however.
