jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Ron Gardenhire is a genius. I really didn't want to say Gardy is a genius, but dang, does that guy know his statistically significant SSS (er, is that actually SSSSS), or what?
James Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Florimonster with a walk, huh? Well, I'll take a leadoff walk any day of the week.
afurry91 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I cheer loudly every time Pedro draws a walk. It feels like he just hit a home run to me.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 OK, the strikeouts by Mauer are getting a teensy bit alarming.
twinscowboysbulls Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Is he suddenly trying to do too much?
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 We can all thank cmat for that. No reason to be so modest, Chief....Your own pregame reverse-jinxin' deserves its share of the credit, too!
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 OK, the strikeouts by Mauer are getting a teensy bit alarming. More bunting will solve everything.
James Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 More bunting will solve everything.Bunting solves everything, in any situation.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Bunting solves everything. Only in innings 2-6
afurry91 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 If we lose this game 4-5, I'm going to be crabby.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Dick wanted Kubel to lay down the bunt...........................yes I said, Dick wanted Kubel to lay down the bunt.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I was thinking that this game was pretty entertaining .... but all of a sudden, I want a nap.
cmathewson Provisional Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Dick wanted Kubel to lay down the bunt...........................yes I said, Dick wanted Kubel to lay down the bunt. Dick always wants every hitter to lay down a bunt. This is his WTF? moment of the day.
Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Dick wanted Kubel to lay down the bunt...........................yes I said, Dick wanted Kubel to lay down the bunt. A little bit in his defense there is no one over there. If kubel does it enough...teams might stop putting the shift on
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Wow, Hicksie...that swing was uglier than Pinto's throw.

If kubel does it enough...teams might stop putting the shift on Yeah, but he's always calling for the bunt. I lost track of the times he's called for a bunt with a slugger hitting and more than one out in an inning.
afurry91 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 The good news is the top of the order is due up in the 9th. The bad news is that our lead off hitter bats about .200.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 A few corner OFers might have held him to a double there, I agree. Most wouldn't have. Not a big deal. The ball was hit in the gap. Nobody turns that into an out. I think you need to get your eyes checked. "A few" OF'ers hold that to a double?" LOL, no that was a routine double for 99% of outfielders.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Wow, Hicksie...that swing was uglier than Pinto's throw. Since we have an automobile reference- In the immortal words of Mackenzie Phillips...."Your car is uglier than I am...!...OOPS, that didn't come out right..." At 1:49-

On the other hand, the ball that got over Colabello's head was some pretty shoddy OF play.
