We just got super deep in the middle infield after this season of continuing development of Lewis, Lee, Julien, Martin, Erod, Cavaco and co. down on the farm. C4 will likely be SS for 6-8 years. Thats yr 28 thru 35 for C4. With all the 22-25yr olds in our system, its super exciting to think about them having the opportunity to work with C4. We are deep in the amount of young pitchers that are going to be getting a shot in the big show so hopefully the F.O. can find a trade partner to get a veteran front line starter that isn’t washed up or injury prone.  Just don’t sign Bauer! When Lewis comes back in June/July… I wonder if he will get reps at 3rd if Miranda and a sophomore slump?

I don't think there is any doubt that Correa is the Twins' shortstop until he can't play there anymore. He's never had great speed, but makes up for it with other things--good positioning, good arm, good footwork and a decent break on the ball. I hope he lasts at short for the guaranteed duration of his contract.

I think the next question will be what position Correa transfers to when he is no longer a shortstop. My guess is that he'll follow Ernie Banks and become a first baseman, particularly because he would be a big target there and in spite of a really strong arm.

Potentially, he could DH on Sunday afternoons against a lefty starter here & there but only 5-6 times through the year.

This gets Farmer in the line-up, RH bat while keeping Miranda’s RH bat in line-up.

Buxton - Jeffers - Polanco all RH bats as well.

No reason to move anyone into SS unless Correa loses range - his arm is superior and should remain so………he may start playing 3rd at 32 yrs. or so? Too athletic and arm to superior to end up at 1st base.

For the 1st year I don't believe it'd affect anyone. I hope Farmer was never the planned starting SS. If Lewis comes on strong & Miranda is adequate at 3B, maybe Farmer gets traded at the deadline.

100% the SS job is Correa's until he can't play elite defense there anymore. I'm glad there are options who can back up for rest days, but SS is the reason the Twins extended him.
