This guy is dominant, has phenomenal stuff, yes he is going to walk lots of people, but this also makes him virtually unhittable....the real problem with Deduno is that he might also be uncatchable, I know the catchers hate to catch him, that is a GREAT! sign...

Get over yourselves...Deduno does not fit the mold of the "Traditional" pitcher and there in lies the problem, the Twins staff and evidently fans, get hung up on the traditional but you can not apply that to Deduno...he is not tradiional...the guy is a great pitcher who can beat anybody, anytime, and he can lose to anybody anytime too..I get that...

Lets not make the same mistake we made with Cy Knuckles...ok?

Deduno is better than any pitcher we have added with the possible exception of Worley who has major question marks...if we are not going to compete

in 2013 let Deduno work out the kinks, the most exciting pitcher in baseball

He has been working on pitching for 9 years between the majors and the minors.

Liriano can dominate at times and has phenomenal stuff as well. He even had a no-hitter in the ML level, that would prove he could be virtually unhittable sometimes. Deduno still needs to prove himself. I like Deduno, but he still needs to be consistent and be able to find the strikezone in order to have any success in the ML.

He's great that's why he cleared waivers and signed a minor league deal.

I'm a total strikeout rube, and he has strikeout material, but you'll notice by his meager 6.5 K/9 last year that he didn't get nearly enough of them. That's because he's so "ineffectively wild" the batters don't have to take the bat off their shoulders. When your control is so bad that every batter can be Mauer-like selective, you have to go back to the drawing board.

Player of the Week – Samuel Deduno, RHP

Deduno made one start this week. The right-hander threw six shutout innings. He gave up just four hits, walked one and struckout nine. In 20.2 innings so far in the DWL, he has given up no runs on 13 hits. He’s walked nine, but he has struckout 26.

I was hoping he might step up and take Swarzacs lone relief spot

SD will never be a reliever for the all the reasons stated above.....

Lets look at 2012:

WHIP = 1.544

SO/9 = 6.5

BB/9 = 6.0

Man, we need 4 more just like him!

keep your stats, keep your pitchers, but we will be laughing stock of league again, if Deduno is in Rotation, we will have a chance to win every time he pitches, is there a stat for that?

Take Dedunos stats in July and August, yes he was injured later and suffered statistically but in July and August he was our best pitcher
