  1. Lewis is fine. He'll be fine, and yes... he has hit and will hit. (Just to be transparent Mike, I'm only joking around )
  2. Well luckily it's not up to us bleacher seats GMs to make those decisions. I guarantee that Rooker will get a much longer leash than the mob ready to attack Frankenstein's castle would like, and that's probably a good thing.
  3. Easy partner, that’s crazy talk! They’ve got a top 5 draft choice to protect. Don’t hex them ? ?.
  4. I wont argue that they've both put up less than impressive numbers, but given Kepler's contract, age and potential and Sano's (minus the contract part) they'll both be back unless some team wows the Twins with a trade offer during the offseason.
  5. That's Captain Jax Sparrow to you Good Sir! ?
  6. I'm going to say nope on the nope hope train. If he doesn't make it... he doesn't make it. As long as he's part of the Twins system, I for one, will pull for the kid to bring it all together. Not saying that he hasn't had more than his fair share of struggles (and some pretty ugly batting numbers). Basically, there is a solid chance that he never fully coalesces into a MLB player, but the physical skills and talent are there.
  7. We'll just have agree to disagree then. I can't speak for the others on your list, but knowing Adam and his desire to stay with the Cards, I don't think you have to worry about the Twins "dumpster diving" with him (although he has said he's not sure about playing next year, that this may be his last year).
  8. Well said Doc. Love it . Pretty much my thoughts on the whole thing.
  9. But it's Free Agency, teams almost always have to overpay. Never been crazy about it, but it is what it is .
  10. All excellent choices... which probably means they will try to coax Frank Viola out of retirement ?. Just kidding , but seriously I'd like to see Stroman and or Ray out of these choices personally.
  11. Yeah, it usually always comes back to the amount of work involved in keeping them separate. For most of us, it is often easier to lump all of them together. Like I said, really just a deep thought . Really appreciate all the work you guys do for the site and us plebes. Makes this site and community feel more like a (sometimes dysfunctional) family than a fan base .
  12. Today's Deep Thought... I've always felt that most "prospect" lists don't really tell the whole story. The most glaring flaw, if you want to call it that, is ranking pitchers and position players together. It's a bit of the ol' apples to oranges argument. For example, how do you truly "rank" a CF over a pitcher or P over a CF . I've always felt that they should be separate lists. No real point to this thought, just talking out loud .
  13. It's a good analogy . Sorry, I was also teasing just a little bit... couldn't resist. I've known Adam for a little while now, and to be honest he's an even better person than he is a player (which is saying something as he's had a heck of a career). He's also an alumni of my son's high school and works out there a lot during the off season. ...and Yes, I will admit, it is a mild case of man-crush. ?
  14. Was in Tampa Bay yesterday (Sunday) and so my son, dad and I decided to catch the Rays’ game with Boston. Have to say, that while nothing can fix the exterior, they’ve done a lot to make the inside at least a little bit better than it used to look. Pretty cool to see Nellie play and it was too bad that he got thrown out by Hunter Renfroe trying to stretch a double (I knew he had a good arm, but that throw was pretty amazing ?). Robles pitched an inning for Beantown, and looked like… well Robles ??‍♂️. Old friend Wisler pitched the 9th for the save for Tampa and looked fairly good against the heart of the order despite Boston making a last ditch to tie the game. Just FYI, the empty stadium shot was immediately at opening, it was actually a pretty packed house last night.
  15. Interesting take. Thank you for a lucid and articulate stance. I may not 100% agree with it, but you make a valid point.
  16. So you're saying... "Bring back indentured servitude"? ?
  17. Except for the fact that trades have always been a part of baseball. Free Agency has changed how teams approach some trades, but it's still a huge part of it's lore and tradition. Yes, I'm bummed that he's gone from the roster but this is a part of the game. You can't truly follow baseball as a whole unless you accept all parts of it. Don't get me wrong, I understand your POV (I still hate the Johan Santana trade ?) but this isn't really the "Yankees way". A team with a deep farm system gave up two promising prospects for a feared bat that they can insert into the middle of their lineup. This has been the way since the first leagues formed at the dawn of baseball.
  18. Yes, sir it was a good night on the Farm . You might be right on Blazer Beam. My guess the whole season has pretty much been a possible late season call up to the Saints, but that the Twins weren't in a rush to bring him up unless it was an absolute emergency. I'm still thinking though that we see him in St. Paul before the season ends.
  19. Thus far Sands has shown a good feel for pitching at the pro level. He's got quality stuff and should be a quality major league arm. Where he ends up (pen or rotation) seems more a matter of where they would need him rather than his ability to pitch.
  20. Usually I'm intrigued enough to at least mentally entertain these ideas (especially this season ). However... this is a big nope in my book. I can condone nothing that helps to improve Houston in any way, shape or form. A tiny part of me feels bad because there are some very talented players on that team but... in the end, I am forced to wish evil voodoo hexes on the team and root against them until any and every player associated with the scandal is no longer involved in baseball. Doom on you Houston.
  21. I like the thought of bringing Rocker into the fold as well as Allen, but my gut tells me that they'd also have to ask for someone like Megill as well. The Mets have shown the willingness to pull the trigger on a deal like that, so who knows... I say let's roll the bones.
