  1. I agree with you with Rooker. If he keeps hitting the way he has this year, I think you can challenge him with AA to start next season. Could make his debut as early as next season (age 23) or the following season (age 24). Actually after seeing, that I think you almost have to challenge him in AA next season.
  2. Wow a lot of encouraging news. I am encouraged with Kohls start. One big inning but still a lot to like. I'm higher on him than most but he's still only 22 and there's a lot to like there. He's on schedule Very encouraging for Thorpe too after missing so much. Still only 21 and could get a taste of the big leagues next year.
  3. Slegers will be our 32nd pitcher used this season. Record is 39 pitchers set by the Rangers a few years back. I think Dodgers were 31 or 32 last year. Think we can get 7 more? I don't see it
  4. What's the plan for Romero going forward? Is he shut down completely? Moving to the pen?
  5. Sure can tell he is fast. Wonder how much that Jersey would be worth one day. I sure wouldn't have the guts to spend $900 on it. $250 maybe. Even so, could be a big pay off one day
  6. High minors is AA and AAA. At any point those players can be called up to majors. A+ is close to major leagues but not quite high majors IMO. Opinion changed with Polanco and Pujols and view A+ as close but rare to be called up to majors. But could within a year. Under A+ and you're more than than 1 year away
  7. Rooker just got his 6 home run and 21st RBI in his 25th game in high A ball. Combine that with his rookie ball experience and he has 13 homeruns and 38 RBI in 47 games. I have to admit where I'm wrong. He is having much more success in high A ball than I was expecting
  8. Dodger fans still wanted to sell Calhoun all year. The fact they don't have much faith in him is telling. My friends who are dodger fans think his bat will play but he doesn't really have a position in the field.
  9. I have to imagine we will lose some guys to rule V next year. What's the max amount you can lose?
  10. I think I looked up the wrong guy. The guy I saw was 24 and had a mediocre at best stat line as a relief pitcher. Thought the trade was basically for the international money and I was okay with the trade. The fact that we got a lottery ticket is good I think
  11. Just curious. Is the strike zone going to be in the same spot for every batter too? So for Jose it would be belt to his eyes? Or would it be judge having to adjust to a strike zone from his shins to his thighs?
  12. I've always been against dozier but at this point I think he's a net positive and brings more value to the team in his limited time left than he would in a trade
  13. Yeah first thought came to my mind was the ump who was challenging the pitcher to challenge his call on a ball 4
  14. I never called you insane. I called the idea insane. It's equivalent to flat earth theory in my opinion
  15. High fastballs are impossible to hit. If you increase the strike zone to judge proportions for shorter players than they are never going to hit over .200 again. Balls are more difficult to hit because of where they lie in comparison to the batters body. I'm not sure how 1 strike zone makes it more fair. Quite honestly it's the most insane things I've ever heard
  16. Yep. If you get a guy who slots in our top 10 prospects you have to take it. Maybe even if it's a top 15 type return
  17. I like him. Think you can immediately stick him in our rotation.
  18. Yep it basically became a 3 way trade. Yankees receive - Jaime Garcia, cash Yankees send - Little and Enns Braves trade - Jaime Garcia, Anthony Recker Braves receive - YNoa Twins trade - YNoa and $4M in cash Twins receive - littel, enns, Recker and 1 quality start win That seems like a fair trade all around
  19. It's going to be a lot of fun watching these it's all compete for a spot in the rotation in the next year: Berrios Mejia Gonsalves Romero Enns Little Jorge Thorpe - might be aggressive but could see a scenario where he's pushing for a sept call up next year Stewart
  20. Pretty incredible that he lost 2 seasons too. I pretty much gave up on him but it's nice that he's back on strong and is still a good age for his level
  21. Can the twins option him once the trade deadline passed? That way if he doesn't clear they can pull him back? If he does then move to AAA?
  22. Who determines promotions? Is it the Overall Twins GM or is at the affiliate level where they look down to the next level to see who they want. Or is it a combination of both (I.e. Recommendation and Twins GM makes final call)
  23. Only 10 game DL but he's been off this year. I wonder if the Dodgers would pay a good price for Ervin Santana. Couple guys in their org would be intriguing. Keibert Ruiz, Alex Verdugo, Sterling Heredia, and Walker Buehler would all be interesting targets. They could pay a big price with this year looking like their year
