  1. Continue the conversation at Seth's new article: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26987-article-twins-trade-kintzler-to-nationals/
  2. Now that is some aggressive promotion by Washington
  3. Nice call Van. As long as it's Washington's 20-year-old and not Seattle's 24-year-old.
  4. I think it would be hard to extend him. He and his agent are probably going to be looking at his numbers while the Twins brass would be looking at the glut of middle infielders not only in the league but in the system. I would think on the open market, Dozier would probably be vastly underpaid based on his production, I'd hate for the Twins to have to more than market value to keep one of their own. A reverse hometown discount?
  5. OK, there are just way too many Tyler Watson's in the minors right now. I vote the younger guy has to change his name to Bubba to stop the confusion.
  6. I like both players, but I think Kepler has the easier corner spot at Target Field. 39-year-old Torii Hunter went from being the worst corner outfielder in the game with Detroit to above average at TF.
  7. Starting to look like I'll have to walk back from this one. It's probably going to be hard to trade Santana if Gray and Darvish are going to go down to the wire. Damn A's, just make a deal already! I wonder if it's possible that Santana can be moved in August.
  8. That was usually his bit on SNL also. He was underappreciated and overshadowed on that show.
  9. Geez, what a tough problem to have. I'd like the Twins to be in that position soon. Of the Astros starters all but McCullers and Musgrove were of the "Hey, look at what I found here!" variety. There's definitely a knack to finding diamonds in the rough, or at the very least seeing their flaws and turning them into diamonds. I have to think there's a way to quantify and identify.
  10. After the season premier I thought perhaps they were writing Chris Parnell's charterer off. I'm glad to see they didn't. He's a great voice actor; awesome in Archer also.
  11. I used a Hulu free trial and got caught up on this show. It is awesome; I love all the callbacks. Similar comedy to Dan Harmon's cancelled Community. My DVR is set to record this show now.
  12. I agree, partly because most teams are willing to give up those types of players which are so far away, and partly because the front office probably is already going to have their hands full with 40-man decisions next year.
  13. I bet Santana gets moved but for a return most folks here are underwhelmed by. The front office surely sees his peripheral stats indicate he's much closer to being a liability than he is a front of the rotation guy. If he pitches to his stats the 2nd half, this is likely the last chance to deal him.
  14. The batters shouldn't have to make assumptions about a strike zone created on a whim by a cantankerous umpire, this is professional baseball, not the debate club. Umpires customizing their own strike zones was one of those quaint ideosyncrcies that are no longer needed in this age.
  15. It's not about being consistent any more, it's about being right. The rules were changed to make a uniform strike zone awhile back. Cuzzi still thinks he can make his own it appears.
  16. I'd trade multiple guys for Archie Bradley who doesn't have a rotation spot. I'd toss in Kintzler to help fill the bullpen hole he would cause.
  17. If Kintzler goes to an AL team, it might be nice to package him with one of those DHs you mentioned. Their years of control could help offset Kintzler's rental status a bit.
  18. Good, both could pass through waivers and perhaps moved prior to September.
  19. At the very least he's at the Swarzak, Duensing, Manship threshold where the time has come to toss him into the fire to see what he's got.
  20. I like the players this team is getting but they are starting to take on quite a few 2018 40-man responsibilities. With the ensuing trades ( if there are any) I hope they consider "sweetening" the offer with guys like Vargas, Park or Vielma.
  21. Littell's 11th round draft selection should be of note as well. Since the bonus pools are all based on the first 10 rounds, the 11th round pick is very often the HS kid with signability concerns meaning he almost certainly was much more highly regarded as a draft pick than his round would suggest.
  22. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26966-article-twins-trade-garcia-to-yankees-for-two-pitching-prospects/ Continue the discussion here.
  23. You'd rather have Ynoa, who's getting shelled in Rookie League and who's velocity never developed, to these two pitchers who are putting on a show in the upper minors? Or you don't like to see Pohlad lose money on an investment that started to head south?
  24. Looks good to me, every e loves a high spin rate these days and that's whee Enlow's hype sorang from during the draft so you know that's an interest to the new front office. It would be easy to think Enns is a Slama-like all numbers, no stuff kind of guy, but if that was so, they probably wouldn't have traded for him.
