Ha, well I enjoyed it, but it was with diminishing interest. 'New season, new emergency' shows sometimes take me out of it, as I can't stop imagining the writer's room where they're all sitting around saying, "Well now we have to write something that is a bigger threat than last season!"

I think I got through three seasons, back when the third season came out. I'll have to get on what's come out since.

Definitely on my list. I'll probably wait before a few more episodes drop before I jump in. Seems like a dark comedy sci-fi. Such a different turn from Breaking Bad. Very curious. Started Welcome to Derry. Starting off pretty good. Fun call backs and Easter eggs if you're a Stephen King fan.

If only the Twins would have recognized the peak for what it was. Which has been a problem for this club. The Twins traded two fringy prospects, Steer and CES for Mahle. Miranda was a big up-and-comer and league-wide talk at that time. He probably gets the Twins Luis Castillo instead. Who the Twins would have of course traded last July. -
That's just the wealthy in general. All this legalized gambling is just funneling billions and billions of dollars from the middle class to the wealthy who will sit on it and take it out of circulation. Forget about and moral issues with gambling or concerns with addiction, this is one of the many things that is absolutely KILLING the economy. It's never going to get back on track if we don't start putting people in charge who will start turning off the faucets that are pouring free money to these people who have zero care about the rest of society.

Presumably, but not most definitely. He's got 8 games left; there's a lot of time for the tide to turn. Anthony Richardson only got 15 starts, Trey Lance only got 4 and both the Colts and 49ers got HUGELY rewarded for making a decisive call and going in another direction. That's not going to be lost on teams in similar situations going forward.

Sure, and there are probably some fan bases that are on board with just getting back to regularly having an above .500 record. I'm pretty sure GB is like most of the Vikings fan base though, we're average to good most years, so mediocrity and frequent uncompetitive playoff appearances aren't going to cut it. Keep looking for a QB who can put you over the top. But the Browns and the Jets are the Browns and the Jets because of their owners. Which is pretty much the case with every perpetually bad franchise.

Well, I want to know ASAP if he can do this or not. I'll take the random brain farts that comes with juggling a ton of information if it means we're going to have a better read on the QB situation come Week 18. The arm is there, and surprisingly to me, the decisiveness is way better than we saw the first two weeks. The biggest issue is the accuracy, which I didn't think was supposed to be a huge problem. I think it needs to quickly be determined if that's who McCarthy is, or if that's plausibly fixed. Unpopular take here, but my expectations for this season are low, so I'm in the camp of giving him as much as he can handle if only to see if the accuracy and the decision making improve with more and more reps. If this team goes 4-13 because they threw it 40 times a game, but they can make a confident decision about McCarthy, I'll be happier than if they go 8-9 throwing it 20 times per game and still not having a clue.

The number of botched plays and the insane number of false starts does make me think it has something to do with the wet-behind-the-ears QB. And I've long asked for one, so I'll suffer the trials now. As for KOC and the play calling; I don't hate it as much as most, I do want them to chuck it all over the field more than the average fan. But again, completing those passes is another story with a rookie QB. It does seem to me that most of the qualms with KOCs play calling pretty much always come down to instances where they didn't run the ball up the middle. Not just run the ball, but specifically up the middle. While it's clear KOC would prefer not to run those plays, I also suspect that they can't run those plays, at least not in the situations where everyone thinks they should run up the middle. And we're on center number four in the last two years. It's possible they're just all bad at run blocking, but I don't care, my top request in next year's off season, is to fire the current OL coach and hire someone who has orchestrated good run and pass blocking schemes in the past.

I'm not sure about the clamoring part. Any impatience about calling them up wasn't, "I can't wait to see these guys!!!", It was "Ugh, NEXT!"

He’s a sharp guy, and I like the spring training instructor angle; you don’t do that unless you like working with young, undeveloped players. I have no problem with the hire. Just thought the timing is odd. Had he wanted a similar job previously, I’m sure he could have had one by now. -

I like LaTroy and he always sounds like he’d be a great instructor. But getting into full time coaching a decade after he retired? Kind of weird. Did he pursue this? Or did the Twins cut corners and basically just re-assign a current employee? -
He didn't sound like the same sharp and thoughtful Pete Carroll I remembered in that pre-half time interview. Also, Bronco fans booing the tie score at half time? Uh, sure, it's the Raiders, but exactly what has this franchise done recently to gain that kind of superiority complex? I'm just going to go ahead and presume Sean Payton's un-earned smugness has rubbed off on the fan base.

I've got no problem with Shelton, of the four reported candidates, he probably would have been my choice too. He was probably more qualified than Rocco Baldelli back in 2019 when Baldelli was hired in the first place. But I don't know that trying to find historical comps to justify the hiring is helping. Everyone is upset with this team. Ownership, front office, players. I'm not sure these comparisons are going to win anyone over. Particularly because the biggest X factor in this comp was omitted; Shelton didn't go to the big pocket 2004 Red Sox, he went to the 2026 Twins. I'm guessing if Terry Francona instead was hired by the 2004 Royals, he'd have been out of baseball and long forgotten by now.

Well, hopefully this is the kind of situation that team's league-wide top marks in player satisfaction come into play. Wish he was visiting today instead of tomorrow. Today is warmer; looks like it's going to be a high of 46 tomorrow.

Could the Vikings maybe hire one of those 'Senior Football Advisors'? You know, to point KAM in the right direction on draft day? Looking at the team directory, I see a Senior Player Personnel Analyst. But her job description sounds like she deals in spread sheets and her headshot looks like she might be 25-years-old. She's not giving me Senior vibes.

So the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons for 2 firsts and a good-not-great DT. Now they trade a 1st and a second for another good-not-great DT. And the 1st they are now giving up is their first, not Green Bay's 1st. Does Jerry Jones presume his Cowboys will finish with a better record than Green Bay?

It's possible Falvey is already walking the plank but the timing isn't right for the final kick. The Pohlad's can tell him to fire the manager and hire a new one, and then the Pohlad's can largely wash their hands of the matter. With the Pohlad's trying to get MLB approval for their new investors, going year to year with their TV rights, and the CBA expiring after this year, there's probably too much going on for them to spend the time looking for a new POBO. And screw them for not prioritizing the on field product. However, unless this team makes the playoffs in 2026, I bet Falvey is gone. I mean after the strike and/or lock outs are over.

Disliking your favorite team's coach is pretty par for the course for 75% of fanbases. But yeah, I don't like him much either. Matt LaFleur seems to be a Nick Sirianni lite. All of the obnoxious personality traits but with less of the playoff success.

Yeah, it would be great if he's there for 15 years like Favre and Rodgers, but instead of being a HOF QB, he's just a Jim Everett or a Bernie Kosar.
