  1. Particularly the ones who inherited their wealth instead of figuring out how to become wealthy on their own.
  2. Rocco Baldelli? The team does have a new manager and the old one and his staff repeatedly demonstrated an inability to teach, adjust and give opportunities when young players struggled. And of all the players on the roster, Lewis was clearly the most frustrated by them. Lewis may very well still bust, but if the idea is that the new manager can get better results from young players, then the most physically gifted player on the team is the most likely to improve.
  3. I'm thinking there's a ton of 'group think' going on with NFL coaching hires. Why is everybody interviewing Matt Nagy? He last was a HC back in 2021 where things didn't go great with the Bears. Since then he's been back with KC where he's still not calling the plays and KC is coming off of their worst offensive season in over a decade. I could see why one or two teams might get the bright idea to kick the tires on him, but why is EVERYONE interested? And also why is nearly 60-year-old Lou Anarumo getting so many interviews? With him as DC, the Colts were an overall average defense at best and this comes after getting fired in Cincinnati where it's nearly impossible to get fired. And these aren't Rooney Rule guys who teams will give token interviews to, these are middle-aged (generous term) white dudes. The only thing I can think of is that if John Mara or Arthur Blank want to interview a guy, the other water-carrying and ineffectual owners think, "Oooh, I better interview that guy too!"
  4. I'm sure Flores would take the job if offered. It kind of feels like Jackson maybe needs to be handled with kids gloves at this point though. Not sure Flores has a pair of those.
  5. And if he wants to keep working in football, there's certainly a TV gig available to him.
  6. Now I see AZ is interviewing Klint Kubiak. If he got that job, I'd bet rumors of Cousins to AZ heat up real fast. They have the 3rd pick in the draft but both the Raiders and Jets will be presumed to be looking at (over)drafting a QB. And even if they don't, AZ and the rest of the league won't know they're passing on a QB until free agency is basically over.
  7. And Arraez was signed in 2014, so another Terry Ryan era player.
  8. Good coach who over-stayed his welcome. He'll probably get interviews at the top spots right away, but he should take a year off. That guy reallllly needs to rethink his offensive approach. If he just takes what he's doing in Baltimore to New York or Tennessee it won't work. Refresh, reset and study what worked for other teams that have changed their strategies while you kept yours the same for nearly two decades. It's not even remotely the same sport as it was back then. I also realize this post could have been exactly the same for Mike Tomlin had the kicking situation turned out differently Sunday night.
  9. AZ has awful ownership, but great offensive weapons. Trey McBride just gave Jacoby Brissett a career best season at the age of 33. It should be an attractive landing spot for a QB. Also, Aaron Rodgers worked pretty much exactly as Pittsburgh hoped he would, I'll bet they've already talked about trying that route again next year with Cousins. If I were Cousins, I'd tell them to get rid of Arthur Smith first though.
  10. No, it stems more recently than 2018. They should have had more than E-rod pop up on lists since then. And E-rod first cracked the top ten back in 2023. But like I said, there's a new guy running the international side of things as of two years ago, so maybe they're better at this and the young players since then will pop.
  11. There aren't enough starters for 32 teams. If you're one of the seven or so teams that need a QB and can't get Daniel Jones, don't trust Kyler Murray or can't trade for Mac Jones (still don't buy into him) Cousins is going to look pretty good when compared to what's left.
  12. I think there's zero chance Cousins willingly goes anywhere that doesn't make him the week 1 starter. I can't see him willingly 'battle' for a starting job while watching someone like Jacoby Brissett or Marcus Mariota or Carson Wentz land a sure thing.
  13. Things may be different, but they do have Gabriel Gonzalez, Kendry Rojas and Eduardo Tait in their top 10. So OTHER teams are doing fine with international signings. Instead of making good calls on evals of these players while they were still overseas, the Twins had to trade Polanco, Duran and Varland just to get these kinds of prospects on their roster. But I'll also be fair. The Twins did promote Kevin Goldstein to be the International Scouting Director two years ago. So obviously when we're talking about teenagers, two years is too early to evaluate if he's improved things. Probably shouldn't have taken seven years to take action on an area that clearly the team was failing at, but I guess now we wait.... as always.
  14. Has the organization had an international player they signed do anything of note for the Twins since the Sano/Polanco/Kepler crowd? I'm looking at the Twins top prospects since 2017, and Emmanuel Rodriguez is the only international player to make the top TEN since Brusdar Graterol, Lewis Thorpe and Wander Javier in 2019 and all three of those guys were added by Terry Ryan's crew. Whatever Falvey's been doing, I think he should maybe try the complete opposite this year. How is it possible E-Rod is the only international signing to make the Twins top ten prospect lists under his now nine year tenure? That's absolutely bonkers. Prior to 2019 the lists had a significant presence of the Twins international signings, since then, crickets. This is an avenue to add talent that the Twins have almost completely whiffed on for the last decade.
  15. I did neither of these things, read my post again. I'm simply asking you to debate honestly, not impulsively. You arguing that the Pohlads are the worst owners in pro sports is like Spaniards arguing that Francisco Franco was the most evil leader during WWII. No, no he's not. He's awful, but he's not even close, read a newspaper and look at your neighbors.
  16. Possible we as Viking fans look back and wish they'd have kept Flores over KOC. Like we do with Tomlin and Childress. Though, KOC is infinitely more likable than Childress.
  17. That is interesting and could be what all the weird hold up on the contract talks are all about. The Vikings want to extend him so they get a pick if/when he leaves.
  18. So oddsmakers have Flores the favorite for the Vegas job. It's probably a good take too as the Davis family has never had a problem thumbing their noses at the rest of the owners, owners who want to largely blacklist Flores because Flores refused to tank for the Dolphins so the Dolphins could fire Flores and better justify tampering with Sean Peyton. On the bright side, the Titans have announce six interviews and none of them are Flores.
  19. They are bad owners, but aren't close to the worst owners. Comments like this diminish every other LEGIT complaint about the state of our team. How could they possibly be the worst owners in all of pro sports when there are about ten teams that average even lower payrolls than the Twins for the past two decades? Several teams have never ONCE had a higher payroll than the Twins in that time. And that's before considering the NFL, which is full of owners who are literally above the law and openly and unapologetically getting away with fraud, extortion, collusion, anti-trust violations and numerous sexual assaults. I'm not defending the Pohlad's but we need to stop with this kind of hyperbole if anyone wants the actual grievances to be taken seriously.
  20. Despite how quickly Rodgers gets rid of the ball, I don't think he would have lasted long behind the Vikings OL. The guy looks and moves like an old man, I can't imagine he could take the beating McCarthy and Wentz took.
  21. Can’t find it, probably because it was only audio, so huge grain of salt, but I could have sworn that despite all the mocks having Zabel going to the Vikings, Paul Allen, who is only good for this kind of insider info, bluntly said the Vikings weren’t interested and the fans should keep an eye on Jackson instead. Edit: I did find more. Allen predicted Booker, then Zabel. I was wrong. KAM off the hook on that one. Unless it was a more tied in source than PA who was spilling tea, and I doubt there is a more tied in source.
  22. And I’m more than willing to give a pass on the free agent signings of Allen, Hargrave, Fries and Kelly. Those were still good moves even if they didn’t exactly pan out. But other than Fries, they were all supposed to be PLACEHOLDERS. But they can’t be placeholders for future free agents, they have to be placeholders for draft picks, which they failed at again last year. Also, weren’t the reports that the Vikings had no interest in Grey Zabel? They liked Jackson way better? Lucky the Seahawks didn’t give them a chance to look bad there, but who the hell is doing these evals?!? It’s not even close. New blood in the draft room please. KAM can supervise but not have the final say.
  23. Vick had a great comeback year after the dog fighting stuff, but then fell off a cliff. He didn’t move like he used to. Not sure if that happened to Jackson this year, but I do agree, he’s a way better passer than most of the scrambling QBs. Hell, most of the pocket QBs too. I do wonder what he would have (could be) like in a wide open passing attack. Baltimore's Greg Roman/Todd Monkin offenses have mostly been super generic and archaic 1980’s run heavy schemes. One can only imagine if in his prime Jackson was on an offense that ran three or four wide sets making the other team run spread out nickel and dime defenses. Instead the Ravens stubbornly ran 12 formation with two TEs, and fullback and jumbo sets that let the other team flood the box with their best tacklers. The Ravens didn’t lose in the playoffs because of Jackson, they lost because Harbaugh stubbornly tried to recreate his very unlikely Joe Flacco/Ray Rice offense that won a fluke Super Bowl.
  24. If Jackson is traded, I could very well see a defiant bounce back year. Not sure that bounce back would last more than a year though. Particularly if he can't run like he used to.
  25. The Giants are a stable organization though. And if Dart is above average, that could be a good team. If I was the top coach on the market, that's where I'd go. Probably a good thing after all that the Jets didn't fire Glen. Them, Cleveland AND Arizona trying to hire coaches? Man, talk about throwing your career away. I'd throw LV into that group too, but it will have some attraction since Brady is there. Him not doing anything will wear thin real fast though.
