  1. Just wait---Buxton will struggle at the plate early on this year, and people will blame it on the fact he's not playing in the field, and can't really "get into the game". (and that's why he's struggling)
  2. Weird. Every time I have tuned in to watch the Twins this spring, I think I've seen Buxton strike out 4 times and hit a weak infield ground out. I know it's early, but let's hope this isn't foreshadowing of another ho-hum, injury riddled season for him.
  3. I was at the Saints game yesterday and loved the pitch clock. Get your ass on the mound, get your ass in the batter's box and let's go! Loved the pace of the game and the fact I saw game action (and not some pitcher pacing around behind the mound, and some batter grabbing his crotch, adjusting his batting glove, etc.)
  4. The way Buxton looked overmatched in his two (6 pitch total) strikeouts? Not so sure the Tigers made a bad judgement call in pitching to him. They were probably hoping to punch him out again - but it was not to be!
  5. Aggressive - Yes Reckless - No Fragile - HELL YES As mentioned in a thread somewhere here on TD, Torii Hunter and Kirby Puckett ran in to many walls in their careers, and didn't end up in heap like a fragile broken down fawn. What's up with Buxton. Is he a drama queen?
  6. What's the point of switching pitchers for one out?
  7. I was fortunate enough to have friends that got on the phone and dialed and dialed and dialed and waited to get in, to buy tickets (no internet sales back then). I was at game 1 of the 87 ALCS and also game 7 of the World Series. After we won the World Series, I remember running around downtown Mpls high-fiving strangers and people hanging out of cars. My buddy and I had to drive back to Rochester and work the next day too! I also was lucky enough to have a friend take me to game 7 of the '91 World Series. I always remind my two boys that their "old man" was at both World Series game 7s. It's also easy for me to remember the years they were born (87 & 91)! So many memories!
  8. Why does he have an oven mitt on his left hand and is wearing slippers?!
  9. Haven't you noticed, there's an egg war going on out there?! Eating lots of eggs these days.
  10. Winner, winner, egg salad sandwich! On toast with a leaf of lettuce. (might as well live large)
  11. This may have been asked in another thread, but why don't you see players wearing those "Power Necklaces" any more? Were they just a fad, or did they not "work"?
  12. Tidy is as tidy does-----McHugh with a nice inning of his own.
  13. This is about the time Buxton would come to bat, and I'd go to grab a beer, come back and he would have already struck out.
  14. Nice tidy inning there for Duffy. Polanco looking sharp.
