  1. He's certainly aggressive, but he makes his share of them. He seems to get bailed out by bad throws, bad tags, etc. more often than most. A lot of mistakes that look less awful because of other people's mistakes.
  2. Who's the baserunning coach nowadays? He should probably be fired. Mistakes happen from time to time to everyone, but guys like LaMarre, Rosario, and Dozier just eff it up out there all the time. The sad thing is they could be even worse on the bases than they are - think of the times when Dozier goes for something and catches the defense off-guard because it's such an unbelievably bad decision. (Although that's not a new thing.)
  3. Yeah, but it was .214 before this year. So this prolonged slump is really taking its toll on him.
  4. I think there's only a handful of us that weren't fooled by the ST numbers and blinded by the fact that he's a one-of-us-in-law.
  5. But, yeah, I think you nailed in 100% The backups they brought in/kept would have been fine ... if the starters remained 100% healthy for 100% of the year. Since that never happens, the entire process was flawed.
  6. So we hate .313 SLG and 78 OPS+ now? And let's not forget the .388 BABIP.
  7. Polanco's added a K to his Miracle day - now 0-3. Mid. Season. Form.
  8. That's it? Sadly, I doubt they'll pull the plug on him this year. As long as the pitchers that would succeed with or without him continue to succeed, they'll point to his game-calling abilities as reason to keep him around. Throw in a hit once a week and it's smooth sailing for him. This FO seems to be bullish on the veterans they bring in.
  9. I think we have a new leader in the clubhouse.
  10. Well, Belisle brings the pitching veteran-ness, so they need someone with no discernible worth to hold things up (or down) on the offensive side.
  11. Did Grossman lose track of the count, happily protesting the call, or asking why time wasn't granted?
  12. Polanco's 0-2 so far today for the Miracle. Looks like he's ready to fit in with the rest of the guys.
  13. Can't be the get-away day lineup ... Motter's sitting. This is the A Team.
  14. Does Big Sexy take the Rangers' pound of flesh for Profar by plunking Joey?
  15. If you want to revise to a 5-inning 1-hitter, now's the time
  16. Here's hoping they retaliate in the 1st today. Who doesn't want to see Big Sexy square off with Mauer?
  17. How not to pitch?
  18. Ryan "Rally Killer" LaMarre.
  19. We might be getting to the point of what guys like Odorizzi, Belisle, and Pressly aren't doing more so than what Trevor is or isn't doing.
  20. I remain convinced Kennys Vargas could have given this team the same, or better, production than Morrison. It's starting to look like last year really was the outlier rather than the new norm. Too bad.
  21. 3-game hitting streak with a 3-run HR last night for Rochester. Hopefully it's the start of something.
  22. I was really hoping LaMarre and Dozier would sit today after their baserunning blunders last night. Guess when the cupboards as bare as it is, that's not an option though. It will be nice when Polanco and Buxton can come back to replace Motter and LaMarre. And when they dust off Ron Davis to take over Belisle's role as Super Veterany Overlord of the Clubhouse.
