    Even more impressive to me is the 2.5 walks per 9. He keeps the walks down, the GB rate up and keeps missing bats, and we could see something in the neighborhood of what they thought they'd get. It seems like he's been around forever, but still just 23. I remain optimistic.

    Sure, we're all mad at Weapon X for not putting the ball in play, but had he given them the lead they still would've turned it over to Rodney. And, honestly, watching him blow yet another game would be more than I could take.

    That would be my hunch, too. Although, maybe they saw "enough" from Hughes to move him to the pen and they'll call Romero up to take that rotation spot. Unlikely, but one can dream.

    I'm pretty sure I compared Rodney to Ron Davis before the season started and some of the other posters here were trying to school me on why I was wrong. Glad someone they all probably think highly of has numbers to back it up.

    He's done a brilliant job of parlaying a couple of good months over the last three years into long-term employment. I imagine it's longer than most of us would like.

    You'd be surprised at how many people on this very site were telling us naysayers that we were overreacting to his signing and being anointed closer. Also, closers are very overrated and an antiquated part of the game.
