If the often heard statement that you don't know what kind of hitter you have until he has reached at least 1500 plate appearances, there are only 3 players who qualify. There are others with much less experience. I think instead of saying rotten to the core, you should focus on the inexperienced roster instead. How many years has it taken Buxton to reach a level that people always seemed to think he was at. Has he ever had that marvelous breakout year? Jeffers is just reaching that level of 4 years experience but he seems to have been on the club for ten years. Larnach has just reached 3 years. These guys just don't have that much service time as only 3 have 3 years in game experience. Everyone else is well below that level. Time sitting on the bench with injuries doesn't count as in game experience. People just need to chill out or scream in frustration if it makes them happy. But game experience means just that. Look at the best teams they sign "veteran" free agents, thus upping the in game experience of the overall roster. The Twins obviously are not going to do that.

    I don't think Emma has enough quality time at St Paul this year to make the Twins roster in spring training no matter what they do with Jenkins. Jenkins does look like he has caught and probably past Emma no matter where they play the final month. Although I hope Emma makes the Twins sometime next year and has agreat rookie season.

    I don't think the Twins have to trade any more pitchers this coming off season. They had to promise the minority investors something to get some money out of them. Could they trade Ryan or Lopez for a terrific package, sure why not? But it should not be just for money anymore. I think if you add Raya, Festa, MacLeod, Lewis, and maybe Morris, you could get be a good start on a bullpen. Keep Sands, Topa, Adams, Hatch and probably Ohl, could get you a good start on a bullpen and leave plenty for the starting rotation. Who knows maybe Canterino will show up healthy.

    IF the team is not working to compete in 2026 or 2027 why bring up guys early next year? Let them get lots of development time in St Paul and maybe bring them up towards the end of 2026. That would depend upon the strike outlook. The Twins could easily be a 100 loss team in 2026 and probably on the same pace in 2027 for however many games they play.

    Win totals Twins 57 Balt 56 A's. 55 Atl. 54 Wash. 54 Pitts. 52 CWS. 44 Colo. 33 The only teams I don't think the Twins can catch are the White Sox and Colorado. I expect they could catch at least 1 team per week. This may not be the best place for this, but tracking next years draft placement is something to look forward too.

    I'd add MacLeod as a potential left handed reliever for next year. Going to need someone beyond Funderburk.

    Next year may turn into a tryout camp for the pitching staff. Right now we may have 3 spots in the rotation spoken for. Beyond that I think guys are trying out for the positions. May turn into the same thing for the fielders also.

    I am not sure backup catcher is the position that keeps us from winning the World Series next year. But if it is, we would have achieved a lot😃

    Will there be room for Prielipp next year, or is he an automatic bullpen move. I f they want him to still be a starter, it may 2027 before he gets here. Currently he is giving up a 307 batting average. I hope that is from pitch selection he is working on. Festa is another starter or bullpen question. Between Festa and Prielipp we could start a could back end of the bullpen. Need to figure out where Raya and Morris fit in. I think Raya is probably a bullpen piece also, not sure about Morris and SWR at this point. I think it's more about who the best starters are and the others to the bullpen .

    I kinda been wondering about the Joe Mauer rumors since last spring. Was this a way for him to buy a small piece of the team? Second thought, probably not or else that announcement would have been made right out front.

    I assume this was agreed to before the trade deadline. Postponed so the new partners wouldn't get blamed for the sell off. I don't know if this is bad or worse.

    Do you have pitchers get to the majors sooner with 2 good pitches or have them stay in the minors until they get a third pitch down? Do you tell the pitchers to throw as hard as possible or conserve energy to go hard in the their last inning? What is the realistic pitch limit you are working on? 60? 80? How do you grade pitchers in the draft? Look for control and command of 2 to 3 pitches, then bring them up? It would make a big difference if pitchers suffered fewer injuries and could pitch a whole season in this system.

    After less than a week, people are giving up on Rodan. He has done very well in his 2 years in the minors and has only had 115 at bats at the major league level. He was a third round pick, I would like to see him get 5 games a week to see what he can do. On the other hand, I don't think they need to hold spots for Outman and Mikulski.

    I, like probably everyone, figured the Twins had their bullpen covered for the next 2-3 years and so was not overly looking at bullpen pieces in the minors. I figured their relievers were all going to come from the failed starter pot. And then the Pohlad(s) decided $75million payroll for next year was just about right or maybe too high and ordered everyone traded or sold off. That still leaves a couple of starting pitchers to deal with this winter. I think most of the starters and bullpen could easily come from the players received last week. There possible could be a $1 mil dollar pitcher signed at the end of spring training next year. I think next spring and possible all next year will turn into a year long try out camp.

    The Pohlads didn't really want to spend for a winner, or they would have planned from the beginning to spend more money. The Twins can't keep up with the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Astros or at least a half dozen other clubs in the Al and a similar number in the NL. Correa didn't want to be in Minnesota. The Twins were just the team he used to increase the bidding. He always assumed he would get a $350 million dollar contract from someone. Again the Twins were the only team to give him basically a 1 year deal for $35 million and an opt out. If he had wanted to be in Minnesota he would have signed the deal they offered him for $250 million during his first year. Next he went to the Giants to talk to them about their $300 million deal, failed the physical. Then went to the Mets and did the same thing. No other team got into that bidding war for him but the Twins. They had the highest deal on the table by about $75 million plus the option years. You will notice that he still kept his Houston home and that no others joined him in MInnesota. Falvey was trying to make the team as good as possible and hoped that Correa would attract other good free agents to the team. Unfortunately that's when the Pohlads dropped the bombshell and said they weren't paying for any more.

    Wednesday against Boston was caused by the pre-game meeting. So everybody in the clubhouse knew people were going to be traded. The Correa deal was made between the owners, the Pohlads and in Houston Crane.

    Don't plan on that happening.

    They can finish the sell of the team now. They minimized the payroll and cleared some payroll space. The Pollads don't get any money back. The new owners can come in and won't have to deal with Correa boat anchor.

    I wonder if the Twins will get anything in return? Like maybe a free plate of Bar-B-Q.

    Hendry was rated 12th on the Philly prospect list. He just recently has risen 2 spots on the list😃

    Correa still owns a home in the Houston area and they spend a lot of time there during the winter. If moving, it would be better for the kids to relocate now then later. Also the Pollads are only going to pick up his salary for as long as they own the team. It might be better for the new owners to have clean check book to shop for free agents next winter.

    I expect Abel, the new #6 prospect, to slide into the Twins rotation. They have the rest of this years schedule to work with him on what he needs. Tait is listed at #4, but if Keaschall plays the rest of the way for the Twins, he may move up to #3. Or then again Tait and Abel may slide down the list after being re-evaluated.

    Tate is listed as the Twins 4th best prospect and Abel as the 6th. That could change in a month but it looks good for now. Maybe the Twins know something about Durans decline the past 2 years that others don't.

    I think the Pollads would be doing the "new" owners a big favor by trading Correa and taking the heat for it. The new owners could then say they weren't the ones who traded him. But if the team is going to reduce the payroll, Correa has to be traded and the best place to get him to accept is probably Houston. The Dodgers and Dodger fans would never take him. The Yankees might and maybe the Mets. Instead of eating money the Twins might throw in Larnach to give the Astro's the lefthanded outfielder they want. I wonder what that trade would look like.
