  1. Crazy that the Twins are closing in on a +0 run differential. Pythag my ass! [Edit] Punctuation is important. Pythag, my ass! [/Edit]
  2. 2 game lead in loss column over every team in the WC hunt. Let's go!
  3. I legitimately LOL / snorted. And yes, snot shot out of my nose. While sitting in a starbucks. And I'm not even ashamed, because that was awesome.
  4. A rotation of Santana, Berrios, Garcia, Meija, Gibson could be alright. A backend bullpen of Duffey, Curtiss, Romero, Hildenberger, Rogers, Kintzler could be alright. The offense, as is, with Buxton elevating his game slightly, could be alright. Throw in another, cost controlled starter for Gibson, and you just might talk me in to the possibility of the Twins making a run.
  5. Who in our farm system profiles as a #4 starter? Gonsalves? Realistically I mean, not a glass half full.
  6. 6.2. 8H, 4k, 2BB 3R 1ER Twins win 17-4. Obviously we aren't going to fall apart until after the deadline, will probably become buyers, so that necessitates we get a bit more hope before the rug gets pulled out.
  7. Is there any precedent for this? Taking back a bad contract with an elite prospect, in exchange for a reduced package of prospects going out? It's a really interesting idea. Especially if your scouts / analytics team identifies a potentially fixable bad contract. Even if potentially fixable is limited to "bad 5th starter" like Gibson or Zimmermann into a "respectable" 5th starter.
  8. Hahaha I came here specifically to call this out. Hahahahahahahaah
  9. Buxton pulled a buxton by windmilling his arms to stave off a fall while collecting his two bagger. In the process he ran mega funny and seemed to have tweaked something. Just run at normal speed bruh. You were in easy with 2.
  10. I feel like I'm on Canis with all the pedantic back and forth here. The last 3 pages in a sentence: We can all agree that Kohl Stewarts "bust %" as a starter has increased somewhere between moderately and significantly since he was drafted, due to his inability to control the ball and / or translate his "good stuff" into swings and misses. Bonus sentence: With little historical precedent on his side, Kohl will really have to make a leap if he's to be an effective 4th / 5th starter, let alone a top of the rotation guy or a high-leverage bullpen arm.
  11. Yeah Sano was exhausted, despite him swinging at the least % of pitches. Was disappointed in that regard. I think he'd have a good shot at winning one of these if he could put more swings in. In two rounds he had less HR than Bour did in one. And ultimately got favorable draws to get there. But it was still nice to see him represent well. *cough* Dozier *cough*
  12. Side note. I *finally* updated my time zone settings (after lurking here for years). No longer are posts listed as 6 hours ahead of time. It's the small things in life...
  13. Look at the bright side. With the shellacking the Jays took tonight, they have passed our hometown heroes for 3rd worst run differential in the AL!
  14. Seems like my interest in these milb recaps goes in waves. Right now I'm in a peak. Want to see how the bullpen arms do. Gordon and Palacios. The rookie leagues with all the new draft picks. squeeee!
  15. If I was in the twins FO, I'd be lobbying the rest of the teams on the schedule to let us play our games at their stadium.
  16. Pretty crazy to me that we're trotting our two guys I'd never heard of before the season, and one guy (Gibson) who I wish we'd never trot out again, in the biggest series of the year (thus far). Actually what's really crazy is that we are in first place, given the state of our pitching staff. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. And in the meantime I'll populate a twins sweep.
  17. I just removed the - in the word lets. This link should work
  18. This is the last year players not born this millennium will flood the draft.
  19. After he gets non-tendered by the Orioles, picked up by the Diamondbacks, released and picked up by the Mariners, and then traded to the Twins for Palka and PTBNL, I'm going to go with ABW.
