  1. Hard enough that I'm now pretending to follow the Twins while I actually work.
  2. Dazzle quote of the day: “Gibby in the past would let innings like this get away. Right now, he’s a strike away from getting out of it. Ball hit deep…and it’s a Grand Slam.”
  3. I think that it's time to put all of the rumors to bed. Chief is the Highlander, time to fess up!
  4. This. There have been week long stretches in the past where there have been a minimum of head scratching moves. There have been some things that I've liked so far this season, but it's very early to make any sort of conclusions.
  5. I always figured that game thread was more of a misnomer.
  6. Because it's baseball! If I'm not attending games, I'm watching or at least listening to most games. As a season ticket holder, I'm also invested so there is that. The game is what gets me to the park or TV or radio. Even as putrid as it's been around Target Field the last handful of years, there's little things that keep me going to them. Sometimes it's something with the other team or a particular matchup, sometimes it's an opportunity to see a player (particularly an ace pitcher) that I haven't seen play before, sometimes it's just the perfect excuse to sit outside on a great summer day/evening. I can't say that I'm overly excited about this club in general, but man am I ever excited for Opening Day!
  7. This is where I sit too, but I'm not going to give him much rope. I want to see early results and move on quickly if its just more of the same.
  8. This is kind of my mindset. Not getting excited about the opening day bullpen was pretty much a foregone conclusion when I read the names reporting to camp and figuring that the youth movement wouldn't happen. Just more of the same...hard to get overly excited about much on this team. Yet, here I am anxiously awaiting Opening Day anyway!!!
  9. Apparently he's only been banished to Storage Room B...
  10. That's a pretty depressing state of affairs. Unfortunately, I think you're pretty close. I'm with Van in saying that the starting pitching is yawn inducing, but I think that's where they're headed. Even with the young bats, this team could be unwatchable early on. It's certainly not a roster to garner a lot of interest. That lack of interest could be even worse if the Wild and/or Timberwolves make a decent playoff push. I'm still disappointed with the offseason, but the roster is what it is at this point. If they're quicker to pull the trigger on roster adjustments, that's a step in the right direction.
  11. This is just crazy enough to work! Brilliant!
  12. I took the liberty of lining up a results show on Maury. It's scheduled for the off day after Opening Day. I thought the timing to be perfect.
  13. Follow up question; who has more #1 hits? Buxton batting leadoff or Billy Joel's catalog?
  14. I think the easy answer to this is that he can do many things in the kitchen; flip burgers, man the fryer, take orders, work a drive-thru, etc but does them all about a nearly worst in the biz level.
  15. The far more important question is whether or not he's had contact with the Russians?
  16. I'd offer you some Minnesota Moonshine, but it appears as though you've already had plenty. What do you mean "this year"? What about all time? Such negativity.
  17. So Van...tough question for you early in the show. Who's going to cover more of the outfield at Target Field this season? Byron Buxton or Billy Joel?
  18. With such versatility, perhaps it is a better idea to trade him for an ace before he signs such a deal. Tough to beat the current bang for the buck of his current deal.
  19. I'm trying to decide whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that my Minnesota Moonshine dividend nearly covered my expenditures on its products last season.
  20. As I stated in the Park thread, this is basically a running gag at this point.
  21. I agree, but based on an earlier post: As a bench player - All but 6 MLB players > DSan If Polanco is playing SS, Escobar can fill the DSan role just as well. A super utility guy is a nice luxury, but I think this team should aim a bit higher with that roster spot.
  22. Well this changes everything!!
  23. But we do know that Santana can't do anything at even replacement level ability. Playing multiple positions poorly isn't a valuable skill. He also provides no offensive abilities. His speed can only be utilized if he gets on base - which he doesn't do at a high enough rate for it to be valuable. I'm with Chief on Polanco. I don't believe he can play 3B either. I also think it's a bit too early to take 3B away from Sano.
  24. The South Park episode where they Rick Roll all of the internet trolls is epic. Brilliant even.
