  1. Start by putting a CD in the disc drive. After a few minutes, it turns into a pizza!
  2. Can't complain about this. Chapman is exactly a haul, but getting anything for Santana is a bonus. A player AND cash is incredible. I really like that they cleared the 40 man spot on top of everything.
  3. My take on that is one of two things happened. 1) He's succeeding in the role so they're not messing with a good thing or, 2) they've deemed the pen to the greater immediate need with few reliable options in the MLB pen and many of the would be callups on the MiLB DL. With a couple of rotation options available in Rochester, this is the way I lean. Either way, I'm glad that they're leaving him there. I'd really hate to see another May situation, I don't think that's fair to the player at all. I think he's a reliever whereas I feel that May is a starter.
  4. Fair question. I didn't hear anybody on the telecast say that he wasn't and he didn't pitch Saturday so I assume that he was.
  5. Or when a reliever gets worn down and ends up on the DL.
  6. This is something I could get behind as well. Molitor insists on continuing to use Pressly in higher leverage situations and uses Duffy in middle inning situations. As long as Pressly is in his funk, I think it's time to give those higher leverage situations to someone else while Pressly works through his issues. That logical person would be Duffy in my view. As for the Belisle/Kintzler thing. I'm more bothered by the fact that Kintzler wasn't the guy out of the pen after Belisle got into trouble. Molitor has to minimize the damage to keep the team in the game. I don't feel that he did that at all. I would have preferred Kintzler to start the inning, but I understand your point as well.
  7. I don't disagree with that, but I would have preferred to go with Kintzler over what was left in the pen at the time. I don't really feel that any of the guys that pitched the 9th have any business pitching in a late, close game situation. I don't trust them at all. After Belisle, the guys Molitor trotted out there only got worse and Kintlzer didn't even throw in the pen to my knowledge. I trust Kintzler the most to keep the game where it was. That's the priority at that point.
  8. 2nd best is the problem. Should have been the best, Kintzler. No reason to leave your closer on the bench at that point. If he had pitched Saturday, that may change things but that wasn't the case. The fact that Kintzler wasn't even used to stop the bleeding before it got out of hand is also an issue. I agree completely that Molitor has lackluster talent to utilize, but he does himself no favors by how and when he uses said talent.
  9. But there are other options for those guys that are equally as effective at jettisoning them from the roster.
  10. Maybe so, but even then I have little faith that Molitor will use the bullpen pieces effectively. See yesterday's late game (mis)management as Exhibit A...That was a joke so irritating that I was actually laughing as I watched the predictable results unfold.
  11. Yeah, it's not like this issue snuck up on this team. It's been a glaring issue for some time and should have arguably been the highest priority of areas to improve (rotation being the other). It's discouraging to see the old regime try the same thing over and over again expecting a different result but getting the same result and then watch the new regime do the exact same thing with not unpredictably get the same result. I'm starting to wonder if I'm the insane one because I expect things to actually change when one approach isn't working.
  12. Yet this team still leads all of baseball in games giving up 10+ runs now (5 now). The bats have hidden the truth about the pen for a while now.
  13. I used to have ESPN on so much that the watermark burned into my TV screen. I never missed SportsCenter when it was just a half hour highlight reel. Now, if it weren't for college basketball games, I wouldn't even know where it was on the dial. I never watch other than games and I rarely even visit their website anymore. They had so many writers covering the same thing that they'd contradict each other and erode any credibility the network or either of the contradicting writers had.
  14. I think that the only way I'll be comfortable with that scenario is if it occurs during the pregame warm ups and only during the pregame warm ups.
  15. I'm less concerned with Gibson because I think his leash is nearing the end and that will work itself out sooner rather than later in a season where I don't really care about wins much. I only care about the progression of the players needed in the future - a future that is looking more and more likely sans Gibson. Buxton's struggles are a much different story. I think his issues are more between the ears than physical. I'd prefer him to work the kinks out with the big league club, but there may be a point where they'll have no choice but to send him down. I hope that it doesn't get to that point. I've been fine with the month long evaluation period, but it's time to start tweaking the roster to bring other deserving guys up at the expense of non-performing veterans like Gibson.
  16. Leave it to Molitor to want to mess with what's working. Keep him in the pen and give Berrios the chance if it comes to it. A two pitch mix is not going to work in the rotation. That's already been proven.
  17. Oh good, DanSan got another start. I was hoping he'd play more. I wouldn't want him getting rusty...
  18. I wonder if he also raced Phillippides, but "Phil" won so he's the famous one.
  19. You've seen this team these last half dozen years, no?
  20. lots of game left fellas...
  21. What is happening? Where was this the last two days?
