    These are fair assessments in my view. I don't really think that he's the worst manager in the game, but he's clearly not the best. I think I'd grade him out in the C- range myself. Bullpen usage has always been an issue. Some of his lineups are odd at times, but that's not as big of a deal as other things. He caters to the veteran more than I'd like, which is a massive problem on a team that was young and up-and-coming when he was hired. He still exhibits this mentality now. While they have improved a bit over the course of the year, I still think that this team lacks sound fundamentals. I don't think he gets everything out of his players that he can. Baserunning and situational play, hallmarks of Molitor's playing career, are lacking on this team. If he can't instill his own strengths as a player into his team, that's a problem. I do think that he knows the game and knows it extremely well. I just don't think he's able to translate that into what it takes to be a good manager. He may be a very good coach in another situation, but I've never felt that he's been the right fit for this team.

    I don't really see a reason why this team can't compete for the division next season. Beyond that though, is a pipe dream without serious upgrades in a few spots. Virtually everyone had a career worst year this year and that's just as likely to happen again as all of the career best years that occurred last season. Cleveland is getable and this team has enough payroll flexibility to augment the core that's already here. The fact that the FO didn't trade the likes of Gibson, Rosario, etc is that they too believe that they can compete next season. Whether they do or not will depend on the core holding up their end of the bargain. Sano and Buxton must perform, Rosario needs to replicate this season, Kepler needs some better luck and basically everyone else needs to grow a bit. That's not overly optimistic in my view. I still have plenty of questions and concerns, but I don't think it's an unreasonable opinion that they can compete. I also don't think it unreasonable to think that they won't.

    Probably true, but they should still see how their game translates to the bigs at some point. Considering the veterans they've brought in, they're probably better served seeing what they've got in house. That's especially true now, which I realize is not what you were referring to.

    This rain delay is kinda BS. We could be waiting around all night waiting for it not to rain. Hasn't rained at all in Apple Valley. Nor does it even look like it's threatening to.
