    The Romo deal was sort of unexpected for the timing of it. I'd expect the same from any deal made today. That said, getting pretty anxious here with 75 mins to go.

    I don't think its a question of who has more coveted prospects. Both organizations have plenty. I think its more of a question of who's willing to part with said prospects. 2-3 pitchers today please. Preferrably more of a priority on the bullpen.

    To echo what others have said. I like this trade so long as there are others to follow in the next 3-4 days. Romo is decent enough as a 7-8th inning guy that is probably at minimum marginally better than the 4 recent DFA's, if not significantly better numbers-wise than 2. Now go get Giles and/or Greene, and maybe one of the starters the rumors have the Twins attached to. Then we're in business.

    Wait..........Duensing is available? Pick him up and use him as a throw in for Syndergaard! Wasn't it Duensing that everyone wanted to use when he was a part of the Twins as trade bait?

    Maybe its more of an addition by subtraction for the Giants. Holland's numbers don't look all that good this year, do they? Edit: I'm dumb. Did not realize he was DFA'd

    I don't remember Kershaw being an option/rumor. He very well could have though. I do remember either of Lester and Ellsbury being the headliner from the Red Sox. But that's the only one I can recall. Don't remember what the Yankee package might have been

    Got to figure one activation would be Buxton, but Cave down would probably be the corresponding move there. Beyond that, Poppen (meh), Eades (hasn't pitched in a game since 7/11) or Romero (pitched 3 innings last night)? I'd suggest Jake Reed, but his numbers don't look great lately. Maybe they dip into AA, Jax perhaps? Unless there actually is a trade that gets announced within the next few hours. Maybe Colome switches locker rooms.

    I was more thinking of the extra spot on the 40 man. They'll need a bullpen arm sooner than later. And probably need to see what they have in Allen before the deadline.
