  1. He played 3 games at first last year. This year he has been in the OF or DH, but mainly OF. He was in E-town last year as well. I don't know if they changed coaches or anything like that, but I suspect his improvement this year also has something to do with him repeating the level and growing into his frame a little more.
  2. The dodgers are looking for an upgrade at 1st. And Morneau would definitely fit that category for them. I've read that TR originally had been asking for a team to take on the entire contract and get a major leaguer in return. I hope that was just a starting point for negotiations...
  3. This really seems like a deal that could be done in the off-season. If Willingham keeps anything resembling this pace the whole season, there will be plenty of teams that will be willing to give up some pieces for him some time in December.
  4. Some might. I don't think Valencia's amps go to 11 though.
  5. Great game by Diamond. Great game by a lot of Twins players actually.
  6. That's kind of turning into an understatement at this point.
  7. I really don't expect Danny V to do much with his time. It was just a hypothetical question. I expect that Danny V will probably play very similar to what we've seen from him in 2011 and 2012. But if he did explode, that would be fun to watch.
  8. If that were the situation, would you put him at SS and move Dozier to 2B, or move Plouffe to 2B. Or, a third option, send Dozier down to AAA to figure out some things...
  9. That was quite the Willinghomer.
  10. I think Span should teach Casilla how to bunt.
  11. Well, it's not like he's reading this thread, but you're right. No more talk about that.
  12. Agreed. The little things used to be what they were good at. Morneau is already having a great game though. Let's hope he keeps this going.
  13. I blame Casilla bunting/hitting skills for that one. The ball that that Span hit could have fallen in the CF was slower. The good news is that Diamond is perfect through 3.
  14. Well, that sucks. Get healthy Plouffe! As far as Danny V goes, let's hope he starts tearing the cover off the ball. I'd rather have the problem of too many players playing well than not enough guys playing.
  15. That Morneau homer was a monster.
  16. I'm hoping that the promotion of Marte causes Cincinnati to overreact and give up many prospects for Span. That or Span stays around. But the overpay would be good too. I think that the Twins would probably get more overall by not packaging Span and Liriano together. But I could be terribly wrong as well.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised with Atlanta at all. But the Angels or the Orioles would be my other two choices for destinations. I really don't know what any of those clubs would end up giving us for him, as there have been a lot of names thrown out there.
  18. I love how at least 80+% of the comments on the ESPN article are people calling Bowden an idiot for proposing this trade or the Rays/Rangers trade he also proposed.
  19. He would be on my list as well. He didn't really work out as a hitting coach for Seattle all those years ago, but who knows how well he would end up doing as a manager.
  20. I have thought of some people. I really have no idea how they would fit or if they'd be interested. I doubt any of those guys would come to MN, but you never know. Ryne Sandberg - Baseball America's Manager of the year for 2011. I know other people are going to say his name, but it is known that he's looking for a major league manager job.
  21. I don't think it's a knee jerk reaction to bring talk about Gardy's future as manager. I don't think it would be a knee jerk reaction to fire him either. I don't see that happening before the season is over though. There are several issues with the team. I think we all can agree to that. I think firing Gardy at the end of the season (or allow him to retire, which I think is how it will be announced) will send a strong message to the team and the fans that the Twins organization wants to build a winning team.
  22. If I hit a ball that far, I would run around the bases too, fair or foul. Then again, I'm not a pro ball player.
  23. I do remember. Lester Oliveros and Cole Nelson.
  24. I like the change as well. I do miss out on the which forum has been posted on last, but if I need to make (any more) forum posts from my phone, I might have some sort of psychological problem.
