Yeah. Who know. You're probably right. I'm not saying I was a fan of that move either, just playing a little devil's advocate.
  2. James
True. But what if he only hit a single? Miranda on second where Contreras should be on third.
  3. James
Welp. It's a new ball game.

    Gilberto!

Work getting in the way of baseball again. Twins are making Plesac look great.
  6. James
    No haunting that inning.
  7. James
And that's why you don't talk about haunting.
  8. James
Shhhh... we don't talk about haunting right now.
  9. James
I will hold off on posting nything about walks until they actually haunt.

I think there is a shot for that.

That started already. Dang. Well, I've got 20 minutes before the games starts.
  13. James
Well, today is probably not going to be very productive at work.
  14. James
Right? Work is always getting in the way of baseball.

Miranda with a walk, huh? We'll take it.

Twins starting pitcher makes it through the 5th inning:
  20. James
I didn't think pitchers were allowed to go 6 innings anymore.
  21. James
    Buxton... That is all.

As someone that appreciates stats quite a bit, BA is still one of the first things a look at. There's a reason it's the first thing listed in a triple slash line. If "stats geeks" didn't like it, they wouldn't keep using it. Arraez is great. I hope he's with the team for a long, long time. He's a special player.

I also think Kirilloff is going to be something special. I love my prospects as much as the next guy, and it would take a heck of a deal to make me consider trading AK, but almost no one is untouchable, for the right price.

Ugh. Can we stop with the cheap Pohlad for one thread please? This has nothing to do with saving money. This is about making sure AK is fully healthy and there is a spot for him to get ABs (I also think there are ABs for him). There is a small roster crunch, but these things work themselves out. Kirilloff is the casualty of that roster crunch at the moment. The crunch will be over when (if?) they limit the rosters to 13 pitchers, or someone else gets hurt/starts playing poorly. I think he should be up as well, but giving him another week to show that the wrist is not bothering him isn't that big of a deal.

I didn't say being an old curmudgeon is a bad thing...
