  1. Are you booing or Boof-ing? I need context.
  2. Nope. Keep hitting the ball hard and they'll start to find the grass.
  3. Not only that! I hear they're giving him money too.
  4. Let's just forego the SSS talk, because we all get it, and we all hope things start changing. But how does his OPS change depending on which spot he's in?
  5. If they win today, Twins are 1-6. They were 1-6 last year early on. Every team is going to lose 60 games, and every team is going to win 60 games. The Twins are going to continue to improve all year as young relievers filter in, Kepler finds a spot, Berrios takes the mound, etc...
  6. 1.069 OPS seems pretty third-spot-like to me.
  7. Well, why didn't you tell the rest of us? Why'd you have to keep it a secret?!!!!
  8. Hey, man. I can't even see without my Twins glasses.
  9. I never really fell one way or another on the "why risk screwing with Sano's bat by playing him in a new position" argument. But so far, I think that's what's going down. When he missed that ball yesterday, he looked shaken--almost like he was welling up. The next thing he did? Take his frustration out on the umpire (yes, it was a terrible call, etc). He hates playing out there. It's embarrassing for him and he's forcing things at the plate as a matter of overcompensation. Just let the boy hit home runs! He's a good boy! For the love of god, just let him hit the ball!
  10. Weight is not an issue. Having an immensly promising/important hitter playing whatever the hell position isn't manned because he's young and athletic is the concern.
  11. Just surprised this is plan A and all. Especially given this bit of perspective.

  13. Only year I got 100% was 2001. Guess my age?
  14. I want to like this post, then un-like it, so that I can like it again.
  15. Highly doubt anyone would refer to Reusse as an 'analyst.'
  16. In my opinion, not hitting the ball when you swing your bat is not good at all. I've always thought that, like, if you're trying to hit a ball with your bat, and you swing it and don't even hit the ball at all--like not even one little bit--something's just not right about that.
  17. Not a predictions thread, I realize, but looks like Joey Joe Joe Shabadoo is going to be hitting third for almost the whole season, and I think we're all going to feel pretty okay about that.
  18. Nice job here. Something's got to give with the 1B/3B/DH situation. I would like to see one of Mauer/Park/Plouffe volunteer to move into RF for the good of the team. It's an idealistic, borderline delusional concept, i realize. But, isn't that basically how it worked out when Plouffy seized 3B in 2012?
  19. OK, I get where you're coming from. And where you're coming from, Plouffe isn't a Twin anymore. Sounds like a nice place.
  20. I'm as much of a SABRbobo as the next guy, but here's where WAR becomes kinda stupid (or, alternatively, I become stupid for not understanding or bothering to really do so). Aren't you trying to add up all the WAR from everyone on your team? Isn't that the only reasonable application for WAR? If Sano loses half his value by moving from RF to DH, I'll eat my shoe. Add one or two for the defensive value of the RF replacement, keep Plouffy's 2.5, and on the whole, your team should "win" more "games."
