  1. You can read articles from the area that is called 'Articles.' If you look at the menu across the top of the page, where it says 'Articles' 'Forums' 'Blogs' etc, you can click on articles and you are in the articles only section of the website. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question. Articles also get moved into the forums, and are essentially in both places, and the comments are linked, but you can read this straight in the articles section without going to the MLB Forum.
  2. I'm not even sure what that means, so I'm not sure whether or not to be insulted. Is this a 'runs like a girl' kind of comment? (Don't know the stations in the Cities anymore ... in Chicago I listen primarily to XRT or The Drive.)
  3. I'm happy to give up my portion to be split with the others.
  4. That's what I was going to say ... he doesn't. Can we have multiples saying the same? Or just the first who says a date wins the 'prize.'
  5. Continue the Arcia injury discussion here. Thanks!
  6. Paul, it was pretty neat. Those were the days, my friend ...
  7. Yeah, somehow the threat of karma keeps me away.
  8. Okay, this is a thread about 'Sano vs Plouffe.' If you want to have a more general discussion about how best to evaluate players, start a thread and discuss that. Otherwise, please keep these peripheral discussions relevant to the topic. Thanks.
  9. I like your crystal ball, TT! Nothing wrong with heading into the new year, new spring, new season with a little bit of hope
  10. It seems to have been accidentally deleted among all the spam we've had lately. It's been restored.
  11. Please continue the Stauffer signing discussion in the article thread. Thanks. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/16368-article-minnesota-twins-sign-reliever-tim-stauffer/
  12. Or 2009, 2008, 2007 ...
  13. I'm not sure it's strictly an iPad issue specifically, or a tablet issue in general, but when reading on the site, whether I'm in an article, in a forum, or in a thread, sometimes in the middle of typing a reply, it 'breaks' and I get the message "A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded." When it reloads, it reloads to the top of the page of wherever I was and not exactly where I was; and of course if I had anything typed out, that goes away. Any chance of fixing this? Not sure why it does this, but it does; sometimes several times a session. I also have very limited use of typing responses ... can't use the link function at all, have no use of italics or bold in font styles, copying and pasting is almost impossible. Basically, I have little function other than just typing out words and hitting enter ... even if using the advanced options. I can post pictures, but can do little else. Is this just the limit to functionality using a tablet? Anyway ... not sure if you have an iPad to test this on; or maybe you don't have an issue. (Btw, my iPad is up-to-date, isn't even a year old, is an Air.) Thank you, Brock ... making everything work from a technical standpoint is one of the biggest jobs here.
  14. You said 'ladies,' plural, so I was just wondering to which moderators were you referring? To all, thank you. I do this because I'm outside of Twins Territory and it's important to me to have a great place to commune with like-minded baseball heads and fellow Twins fans. While I wouldn't exactly say moderating is a 'labor of love' in and of itself, the end result far outpaces the very occasional headaches along the way. I wish everyone the merriest and most joyous of whatever you celebrate. And the happiest New Year!
  15. I had shared this on Facebook when I saw it with the comment: 'Aww, Trevor May has a kitty! He just might become my new favorite! '
  16. No worries, Brian. We don't think of you like that.
  17. Whether or not it's our plan, it may happen anyway. And I'm with you on this. What Jay said ... he needs to go to AAA and demonstrate he's ready of the bigs on all levels.
  18. mike ... the point is I don't think anyone is claiming they did wrong, it's that they disagree with the methodology and it's not what they think is best. And you think differently. Sometimes you won't understand another because it's just not the way you think and no amount of explaining it will make any difference because you are just in your own zone with this; and that is okay. I think you've tried enough, and so have others, and at this point it's going no where. This is where the 'agree to disagree' philosophy comes in.
  19. Even though I'm quoting mike's post in this, this goes out to everyone. Please stop with these kinds of posts. This kind of marginalizing is really getting old, and it's coming from both sides of this argument. Some like the Sox' strategy, others do not. So what. That's what discussion is for. But if discussion comes down to quibbling over nits and stats and marginalizing posts in order to show your 'disdain' for an opposite point of view, maybe it's time to move on. This thread has gone about as far as it can go and the wall is now thoroughly beaten. If you don't have anything new to say, but just want to get in the last word, then just stop. If all you want to do is 'win' your argument, stop. Think. Move on.
  20. Since this thread has pretty much ceased to be a Twins discussion and is primarily a Sox discussion, it has been relocated to a more appropriate forum.
  21. It's all about possibility vs probability and how much weight you want to give each. I always hope for the possibilities, but I also prepare for the probabilities.
  22. Except for 2003 (Cubs) and 2005 (White Sox), in my years of living in Chicago (since 2000), what I've heard more often than not, midway into baseball season, it's 'How are the Bears looking this year?' Both teams could still be competing and playing good ball, but if they aren't winning it all, it's onto the Bears. And then that goes away by the first of October. That's the Chicago culture around the Sox and the Cubs, in my experience. More so for the Sox even. The Sox have never generated much 'enthusiasm' (outside of 2005 ... and even that was pathetic compared to the World Series wins the Twins have been a part of). Few are even talking about what the Sox have done so far in the off season. I seem to know more than the Sox fans I know here. And I honestly try not to know anything about the Sox.
  23. Could it be that is another reason they hired Butch Davis, too? Maybe he wasn't their first choice, but one of his 'qualifications' is that he filled a certain ... need ... as you described?
  24. Lots and lots of cookies to bake ...
