  1. Yeah, even among Native Americans you'll see a lot of split and indifference/ambivalence toward the name 'Indians.' At least from what articles I've read about it.
  2. My cousin showed me a picture of cupcakes she made with them and they looked amazing. She did caution that they use a lot of frosting.
  3. Where I work our service weeks are Monday - Sunday. So I go with that. Also, there’s this: ‘On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.’ Everyone knows the 7th day, the day of rest, is Sunday, ergo the end of the week.
  4. Until what? The end of the week isn’t until midnight tomorrow.
  5. Quite possibly, but I love to bake but my decorating skills are ... nil. And those frosting nozzles looked like an untalented decorator’s dream so for $25 I took the chance because, ‘Wow, cool, I want that!’ And since I don’t have to pay to live in the L.A. area felt I could afford it. In the end whatever I ‘create’ with these things I’m sure will end up in some photo montage of ‘decorator fails.’
  6. I've seen them do that with other catchers over the years ... take some practice at first ... especially when doing drills on the TK half field.
  7. Or maybe not ... maybe they made these moves to be more enticing for Yu ...
  8. Heh ... I just bought these: https://faradayscienceshop.com/products/cakelove-flower-shaped-frosting-nozzles Because of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhZIi-Uajhg And while on that website ... I almost bought a moon nightlight, too! lol And now I'm onto Himalayan salt lamps ...
  9. It’s like Milwaukee used the waze app for the MLB and found another way around this traffic jam and just might beat us all to the destination.
  10. I said that and now my patience is wearing thin and I think we should just sign Lynn and go home. <shrug> At this point for me, it’s not the guaranteed money and/or years I’m concerned with, but my patience and sanity!
  11. So, we hire Darvish and he's our front-end this year, maybe next ... while Berrios and Romero are moving up. And maybe even the third year we'll have 3 that are 1-2 as Darvish starts his decline and the others are reaching their peak. The thing is, Berrios and Romero becoming front-enders isn't a guarantee. We hope they will be the front-end guys, but that won't be this season or quite possibly not next, either. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking on Sano, Buxton, Rosario ... and the rest of our core. Putting off for tomorrow is, imo, not productive for today.
  12. I'll just be glad when this is done. I mean ... could we have had any more 'roller coastering' Darvish threads and discussions this off season? Heh ... it's worse than the 'Dozier to the Dodgers - book it!' threads from last year. Let's get on with it!
  13. Thank you for the redirect back to topic. Moderator note: I understand we have our opinions of what is or is not ‘decency’ in this situation, and those opinions have been stated. If you have nothing further to add rather than to restate and re-rebut those restatements, lets leave this character assassination behind. None of us knows Kohl Stewart personally, so I think enough has been stated regarding his character while lacking any true personal knowledge of said character. And since it appears that he is remaining a Twin, issues of his decency are now a non-issue. If you want to explore the broader issue of signing bonuses and contract obligations, please do so, but without unnecessary character assassinations implying indecency and dishonor.
  14. I like your perspective! We aren’t in bad shape and will contend, and that’s better than some years. But to do more than contend we will have to compete with the money somehow if we aren’t going to win the bidding war.
  15. I had to unlike the original in order to like it again ... thanks, Nick.
  16. And besides that, what other front-end starters (I'm talking 1-2 types, not 2-3s or 3-4s) are available next year? (Other than Kershaw because that really ain't happening.) I could be very 'not on it' but I didn't think there were many quality pitchers next year which made signing Darvish something they needed to do this year? (I still don't think we have 'that' person in our system.)
  17. Yeah ... I never thought he'd be someone we would actually sign, just hoped. And won't be at all surprised when he signs elsewhere. I just don't want the money teams to win, but they will. In today's world of baseball it's all about the haves and have nots. The Twins will only be able to compete so far until they are willing to go the extra bump. I think they could do that this year with Yu, but they haven't in the past so I'm not too confident we will. We don't have the prospects to land someone big enough in a trade, we don't have that front-liner in our system now (imo), where else will it come? Even though it wasn't something I thought would happen, I still think it's what we needed to do in order to truly be competitive. And, well, it ain't over 'til it's over ... but ... our core isn't going to be our core forever and I think we are missing an opportunity. But, it's only a game. I'm just resigned to how things are and can't expend my energy over a game, enjoyable as it is for me.
  18. Yeah, agree ... I've said all along that we won't get getting Darvish ... but I was still hoping for it. I'm not really disappointed and won't be surprised ... just ... resigned.
  19. Yeah, most definitely should, imo. I think he's the lesser pitcher at this point and I think he will drop off much sooner and much quicker than Darvish. I'd rather go after Cobb or Lynn than Arrieta. But we'll see.
  20. Do something ... it won't be Darvish. https://twitter.com/MikeBerardino/status/955846806235205633
  21. I wouldn't call the Astros a 'super team.' Yes, they just won the WS but they aren't perennial favorites and big spenders. But Yankees, Cubs and Dodgers ... with their spending, yes. The reason I hope he doesn't go to one of those teams. But that's the way of things ... don't have it, buy it, and don't think twice about it. The Twins could afford to 'buy it' this year, but they won't. I still am holding out hope they will, but I've said all along that Darvish isn't coming here, so I won't be surprised when he signs elsewhere and will be shocked if he signs here. Just really wish it wasn't the Cubs. Or Yankees. Or Dodgers.
  22. Ugh ... I don't want Darvish to sign with the Cubs. I hope that's not a foretelling.
