  1. Have you been talking to Brian again?
  2. Ahh, makes sense. Forgot he tweaked his wrist.
  3. It’s a business. If he waived his no-trade clause and someone would give us something good in return, they should do it despite anyone’s nostalgia. I don’t think it will happen but I don’t think it’s completely out of the realm of possibility.
  4. "So yes, many of the white nationalists associated with the rally in Charlottesville have since suffered disgrace, ridicule, or legal consequences. But their ideological quest to secure white political and cultural hegemony over the United States continues to be championed by the president himself. There’s a reason they’re still wearing their MAGA hats." https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/the-battle-that-erupted-in-charlottesville-is-far-from-over/567167/?utm_campaign=the-atlantic&utm_content=edit-promo&utm_source=facebook&utm_term=2018-08-10T09%3A00%3A20&utm_medium=social I didn't know what quote to choose to preface the article ... there were many.
  5. Grossman is on the DL so Austin wouldn’t be taking his spot. So that leaves LoMo or Mauer. If Mauer waves his no-trade clause, I could see someone trading for him to assume a back-up role. More likely LoMo is gone.
  6. This whole season I've found roster management frustrating ... both from the FO with call ups and moves and with the manager in his in-game management of the roster given him.
  7. Yes, they are ... because it's the manager's decision who plays when, where, how. It's on him. And if he's not making those calls, why isn't he? It's his job! Giving deference to some players' 'needs' over others is not the way to manage.
  8. I get that but what it all boils down to for me is the manager, how and when he uses certain players. How he manages the BP, the lineups, the players. It's not anyone's decision but his. Period. And if you are giving leeway to some players to make that call, that's on the manager and the FO for allowing it.
  9. Meh, and just saw the score. Who cares.
  10. Then Molitor needs to put his foot down. This isn't Joe's call ... same with Dozier and Mauer insisting to be at the top of the lineup. It's not their call, it's the managers. #MolitorNeedsToGo
  11. Heh, I’m sure Mientkiewics begrudgingly tipped his cap at that play. And perhaps Astudillo gets away with it because he’s not a veteran. It’s unexpected. Bet he never gets another hidden ball chance, but who knows?
  12. ‘They’ might actually prefer it, but Molitor makes out the lineups. Our lineup is really sad.
  13. Do you really believe that Molitor is the manager who can take us to the WS? How big of a diffence do you think it will be between what the Twins could/should do and what they will actually do this off-season? What do you really think went on behind-the-scenes and in the clubhouse regarding the rumors about a toxic clubhouse?
  14. Morrison needs to hit a home run here. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  15. You could wring the sarcasm out of that one, Mike! If Cleveland is getting the same rain we had in Chicago, it's pretty heavy. But the satellite looks like there is a break in the clouds so maybe they will start soon.
  16. Mod note: Stop the bickering ... if you don't like a thread and find it to be a 'joke' to you, it's simple, don't respond. And don't respond to the response, either.
  17. I agree. As I said, it's PR/Marketing ... that's what I read, not that it's some big plan moving forward, as if the GM would actually tell the public what his plan is moving forward. But to get that winning team, I don't think it's with Molitor, and I think it's also with some big moves/acquisitions this off-season.
  18. I read that as PR/Marketing being PR/Marketing. But concur with the rest.
  19. Yeah, and you aren't 30 yet ... you have no excuses like I do.
  20. I'm old. I get confused easily. Being young at heart still doesn't help my mind.
  21. Oh, why did I think Field was 31? Okay then ... I stand corrected. Thank you. But given his age, maybe Molitor won't play him, either.
