  1. Geez, if only these players weren't so willfully and intentionally reckless.
  2. With Graterol, Miller and O’Rourke ... that’s a lot of 40-man shuffling.
  3. Ah, okay, then I misunderstood how that rule read.
  4. Nor to me, unless they have someone else they want to add? Don’t know. Again, until we know who all is getting called up, we just don’t know what they’re doing.
  5. Well, in the case of Gordon, I don’t think he’s even near rehab. Given that, I’m not sure you’d want to add him to the post-season roster having no reps in September, and then makes him a 60-day IL possibility for flexibility. But then, maybe he’s closer to coming back and on the list of call ups and then, no, you wouldn’t do that.
  6. Why can't you 60-day either of them?
  7. There's already an open spot on the 40-man that I am assuming is for Graterol. I was referring to if they are calling up anyone else already not on the 40-man, then they would have to find a spot.
  8. He won't join the active roster until Sept. 1, but I'm guessing they put him on the 40-man before midnight tonight. There is an open spot. Unless they are calling up someone else who needs a 40-man spot, then not sure how they will handle it ... put Gordon on the 60-day?
  9. I'm not sure I understand your question ... are you asking if either of those could or would be moved to the 60-day IL? I'm guessing neither will be.
  10. Not necessarily. http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility "A player who doesn't meet said criteria for postseason eligibility can still be added to a team's roster in the postseason via petition to the Commissioner's Office if the player was in the organization on Aug. 31 and is replacing someone who is on the injured list and has served the minimum amount of time required for activation. (For example, a player on the 10-day injured list who has been on it for at least 10 days, or a player who has been on the 60-day injured list for at least 60 days.) Players who are acquired in September or after are ineligible."
  11. No. http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility
  12. Could happen if they make a 40-man move to add him, i.e. a move of someone to the 60-day IL. But my guess is they will wait for calling up Alcala.
  13. He hasn’t been added to the 40-man yet, but I’d think that those who are coming up in September have been told?
  14. I actually checked out Amazon after you mentioned all this for a radio. Lol. But the app/phone combo is better for me because I’m out of market. I actually listen to games at work.
  15. Stepped away from the game when it was 4-2 after the 1st inning ... came back now and caught up on the game thread, then checked the score. LOL ... imagine my delight that we were winning ... and not just winning, but the score was 12-4. And Gibson made it through 5. (Although 3 or fewer runs over 6 would have been better, but ... eh, I'll take it.)
  16. Oh, I'm sure it has an earpiece. the old transistor radios had them ... not unlike earbuds of today. And I was referring to the OLDEN days ... like back at old Met Stadium, olden days.
  17. Didn’t I see this game yesterday?
  18. While the Twins game is about to get underway in Detroit, the Cleveland game is about to get underway in Tampa ... go Rays!
  19. My favorite Pooh song is 'Cottleston Pie'
  20. I think it's kind of cool. I used to see people do this all the time in the 'olden days.' For one thing, it's nice to hear a different perspective of the game you are seeing live, and if something happens during the game, i.e. a player comes out, or there's an injury on the field, or whatever, you have a source for information that you wouldn't have sitting in the stands. Even the mlb app doesn't have the details for everything.
  21. It's up to the discretion of whoever posts the game thread. In this case, Blake is from the west coast ... and he gets confused easily ... so he needs it there to help him remember when the game actually is for him. But whatever time zone you use, it is a requirement that the title also contain central time.
  22. I missed 'Come From Away' when it was here, but have been told by many it was very good.
  23. I wouldn’t say horrible but it had its moments. And we are still up 7.
