  1. Yeah ... I yelled that thinking Cruz was Sano ... oh well ... still worked
  2. I have several pairs of Fluevogs ... I paid full price for some, but got several of them on sale ... they have really good sales. But now I have a foot condition called hallux rigidus ... the only shoe my feet feel comfortable in are running shoes. High end running shoes. :/
  3. Those are beautiful!!! I call them art!
  4. You'll have many of those in a game.
  5. Shhhhhhh!!!! These are what jinxes are made of!
  6. Woohoo!!! Two runners on! Let's go Twins!
  7. If they get those results for several innings, I’m good with ugly shoes.
  8. One time at spring training, I was standing there minding my own business watching batting practice, when Tony O comes along and starts chatting with me. Then he asked how were my hands. When I said ‘good’ he tossed me a ball over the fence. It was autographed.
  9. Because his action was so public, and done in front of MLB officials as well as teammates ... how can they appeal it?
  10. I read that there is a link between e.coli and diseases such as ulcerative colitis. And I'm guessing that was the beginning of it. He said he was dealing with it all season, so the timing makes sense. It's so unfortunate for him. Just when he is putting it together ... stuff happens. I guess that's life and nothing is a for sure thing, but he's certainly had his share of it.
  11. I'm not picking on you, howeda, when I say this ... but I have seen this throughout the season ... that this is a 'must win' game. I think every game is a must win in that we need to accumulate wins, not that it's dire. I don't really believe in the 'must' unless we are on the verge of elimination. Go out and win as many as we can, that's my directive, not that it's a 'must' situation. It hasn't been a must situation all season long. The must only comes in, as I said, if we are on the verge of elimination. We aren't. Yeah, I'd feel better knowing we were already there. And yeah, stuff can still happen, badly. And yeah, we could win the next 4 and Cleveland lose the next 3 and we'd be done. But ... a must win? Wasn't then, isn't now. But we still need to win as many as we still can. So ... win already, Twins!
  12. Right now, administrative leave is 7 days. I assume so investigations can be done? That time can be extended, or, if further discipline is warranted, it could turn into a suspension where he would be ineligible for the post-season. Per what I read, players are still paid during an administrative leave, however, if it turns into a suspension, that pay is rescinded.
  13. Right. For me it wasn't him trying for 3rd ... he could have made it if he hustled out of the box. He also might have made it had it not been a perfect play on the ball and throw to third.
  14. Oh, I forgot about Jeffers. I'm not a fan of Astudillo behind the plate ... he's okay in a limited role there. It's nice to know we have some strong possibilities in Rortvedt and Jeffers.
  15. I'm somewhat surprised Gibson is pitching? Is he healthy? Or rather healthy enough? It seemed that his last appearance out of the BP kind of told us he wasn't healthy. I hope they have a short leash with him, but I guess they need to see where he's at and if he will be an option in the post-season. I have my doubts, but am hoping for a good showing tonight.
  16. I am excited about Rortvedt and am looking forward to seeing how he does this Fall. Maybe by the end of the Fall League I'll actually be able to spell his name without looking it up! How well he does could affect how the Twins proceed on their catcher decisions in the off-season?
  17. Not easy to watch, but maybe it’s a good thing in that they don’t get to where they need to without fighting for it. Then again, I think this team has played well above expectations all year long. It’s been a lot of fun, but I’m not really expecting them to win it all. Hope they do, just not expecting it. You know, the tempered expectations of a Minnesota sports fan.
  18. It’s a Rodgers and Hammerstein song from ‘South Pacific’
  19. Lol ... now that’s what I call a cockeyed optimist!
  20. There are always going to be ‘those teams’ that make life interesting. I still think, no matter who is better, that the Twins and White Sox games are like that. Most years.
