    Yes, the game has passed many here. I see complaints all the time about pitcher usage and blaming one person for it, but this is league wide. This is baseball today. We also have to keep in mind that pitchers are pitching harder than ever today, with more spin than ever today. That is way more wear and tear on their arms and shoulders and bodies than the pitchers of yesteryear experienced. Some amount of protection is necessary. And who knows what pitchers want today? Most have grown up in this new era of usage. Ober didn’t seem upset with being pulled when he did. Remember, he went into this game not feeling well. There was some question whether or not he’d even be able to pitch, so, all considered I think him going 8 was great. That said, yeah, we older fans still want to see it. But, more important to me was the win. More important to me is Ober’s next win, and the win after that and after that through the rest of the season. Consideration for the long game needs to be considered. So, I’m okay with pulling him when they did. Im okay with our starters going 6-7 innings, as Ryan, López and Ober mostly do when they are pitching well enough. Just wish we had a more consistent BP.

    Miranda activated and back with the Twins. Julien sent back to AAA, pretty much as expected, imo.

    Which recent statements are you referring to? Given what they said in the off season, wouldn’t surprise me, but if you have a current link, I’d like to see it.

    We won. That’s what I want, that’s what I got. That should be fun for everyone, but it’s not. For some it’s just reached points of irrational fervor to bitch and moan about everything. No, that isn’t what game threads are for but it is what they’ve become thanks to a couple of people who seem to find joy in stoking the hate. Yeah, some of Rocco’s decisions baffle and frustrate me, too, and I just wonder. But if we win, credit is due. If the manager is responsible for all that is wrong he’s responsible for all that is right, too. Something is working for us to beat the best team without our best players. Yeah, probably helps that maybe Philly has hit a downturn. But every once in a while, why don’t you see the game through before all the hate casting. What’s boring are the same old unimaginative and incorrect ignorant comments each and every game thread ad nauseam about analytics, the lineups, taking out pitchers too early, etc …

    In baseball, anything can happen. I hope we have a strong showing tonight, win or lose, I think that’s about the most I can hope for. It’s going to be a tough, just hope we can keep it close.

    I actually think without our best players it’s not the best time to see if we can hang with the Phillies 🙁 But all I can do is hope the rest of them somehow pull it out and get it done. That would show something if they did

    I would like to see him there, too. But I also don’t feel it’s managerial misconduct, either. While maybe not stated, I get the feeling that that is more the gist of the OP. I could be wrong, though
