  1. I want to see both him and Astudillo play all 9 positions in a game; in the same game. A double Tovar.
  2. I thought about voting this year because the Twins are doing so well ... then decided, pfft, who cares, really, about the all-star game. With fan voting, it should be renamed the fan-star game. That said, as of today, several Twins deserve spots and several more deserve consideration. Hope a couple of them get it.
  3. I was diagnosed with an impingement years ago ... I'm a tennis player, although I was still occasionally playing a pick-up softball game or two at the time ... it had me out for a few months. I did a combination of rest, physical therapy, anti-inflammatories (prescribed vs over-the-counter), and personal training. As I said, out for a few months.
  4. I was diagnosed with a shoulder impingement (years ago now). It took a while before I could get back in the tennis court. Recovery involved rest, anti-inflammatories, and physical therapy. I also worked with a personal trainer along with a physical therapist. It took a few months.
  5. My answer to that question is ‘Yes,’ For this year, it’s been a team effort. If Eddie signs a long term deal with the Twins, I’d say him ... a Twin from beginning to end always makes a good face. But for right now, today, it’s yes, the team.
  6. We have them at my work. They’re called ‘Quiet Rooms’ and there are several of them.
  7. Yeah ... since I read the books already, not sure if that's what keeps me tuning in or not. Sometimes I enjoy 'comparing notes' even if the television product is just so-so. (And that would be my rating for it, as I said.)
  8. Has anyone been watching the series on AMC 'A Discovery of Witches'? I've read the trilogy and the series doesn't follow along quite exactly, but seems to work so far. It seems like this 8-show series will cap this year at the end of book 1. They seem to do a pretty fair job of keeping up with the main points of the book if not all the details, and some things are a bit out of order, but I guess that's what happens when you condense a long book. Not sure I'd give it more than a so-so rating, however. I don't know if there are plans to see it to the end of the series. While I liked the first book, I found the 2nd in the series pretty much a snooze most of the way through, so not sure what I'll think if they carry on with the tv series. By the 3rd book, I just wanted to see how it ended.
  9. What incriminating photos of them do you have? Good job! Will look forward to more write ups.
  10. Yay! The minor league reports are back!! Thanks for all the info.
  11. I’ve missed your blogs! Thank you for this, as both a musician and a Twins fan.
  12. No parking fees on non-game days. And I do believe that there are uber/lyft services in the area now but don’t know how reliably. The trick with Sanibel during high season is to go early, like 8-9am, get your beaching in, then lunch or whatever and leave by 2-3. Or go later, around 3-3:30, get your beaching in then go to dinner, wander the shops, then head back around 8pm. You will avoid the worst of the on/off traffic that way.
  13. My first Spring Training was 1991. Don’t recall how many STs I went to in those early years ... 4 or 5? But I haven’t missed a spring since 2001 for one or two weeks. My favorite time to come is sometime during that week leading up to and including the first games. It begins then. The long winter is over. It’s the beginning of baseball season. Leaving winter behind for those beautiful, green, perfectly-manicured fields ... it’s just the most unique baseball experience there is. Those first workouts and drills, the confluence of Twins past, present and future, even if it seems impossible you still have hope for something great. But whenever I can get there, whether the beginning like that or towards the end, there’s always something to take in. I will be there this year, too ... my 19th in a row.
  14. Uh, who said that exactly? I think the structure of this would allow for more flexibility, actually.
  15. Does anyone know of any other contracts being structured this way for players at this stage in their careers? I wonder if this could be a trend. I could see this structure potentially being better from a budgetary planning standpoint.
  16. Good thing I won’t be living here by then!
