  1. He had a great game last night against the 2018 #1 pick.
  2. If Lewis plays the rest of the season at High A like he has I could see him starting next season at AA. Playing half the season there, and if excelling, moving up to AAA for the remainder of the season - maybe getting a September call up. Then starting 2020 with the Twins as their starting SS. I think moving him any faster than that would be a disservice to his development.
  3. A super utility player typically describes a player who can play multiple positions both in the infield and outfield.
  4. This offseason I hope the Twins sign Escobar to a 3 / 4 year deal, which would take him through his age 32 / 33 season. He could easily be the Twins 2nd Basemen for the next 2 - 3 seasons until Royce Lewis is ready for SS and he pushes Polanco to 2nd. After that he could just be a utility player at that point.
  5. The Twins rotation next year looks like it will have a lot of competition with Berrios, Romero, Gibson and Odorizzi. Potential starters: Santana (Depending if they pick up his option or just resign him), Pineda, Mejia, Gonsalves and Littell. Then you have Lewis Thorpe who should be moving up to AAA and Brusdar Gaterol in AA. This is very exciting!!
  6. I bet Brunansky would be a better 1st baseman than Hrbek would be an outfielder.
  7. If I could like this 100 times I would. You can’t claim a player whose only positions are 1st base and DH is a better fielder than a player who can play in the outfield, 1st base and DH.
  8. At this point you might as well just start playing flag football.
  9. So he's overrated because you feel there are two prospects that should be higher than him? How does that make him overrated? What position is Rooker going to play in the MLB? He isn't going to play OF and his bat is only going to make it if he can decrease his strikeout percentage below 30%. This is basically Kirilloff's first full season (He's 2.4 years younger than the league average) and he has a .974 fielding percentage in the OF compared to Rooker's .914 fielding percentage in the OF. Looking at Ranger Factor per 9 Kirilloff has a 1.83 in the OF this season and Rooker has a 1.16 in the OF. So how is Rooker a better prospect? *All of these stats are per baseball reference.
  10. Please explain how Kirilloff is over rated? I've seen you post this on many occasions and even on Twitter? I'd like to know what you see compared to every other person who follows the Twins and the National writer? Do you still think he won't adjust because he was home schooled?
  11. Hopefully the FO will package some of the minor leaguer's this off season and fill the holes on the Twins. They will need a 2nd baseman, utility infielder and lots of bullpen help. Nick Gordon isn't anywhere close to to being ready for a call up and should prove that he can handle AAA for at least half the year next season. It would be great to bring back Escobar this offseason on a 3 to 4 year deal. The bullpen needs at least one big upgrade and there should be plenty of options this via FA this year.
  12. The best part is his contact doesn't start until next season, so the Vikings still have ~ $10MM in CAP space that they will be able to roll over to next season.
  13. The only way I will like this trade is if the Twins sign Escobar to a 3 or 4 year deal in the offseason.
  14. So the Twins got two more outfielder and RHP who currently has a WHIP of 1.50..... Sounds like a terrible trade. The Twins don't need more OF.
  15. With how deep the Twins farm system is I hate that they're going for quantity over quality. They need players that are close to the MLB.
  16. Here are his numbers from baseball reference. It would be nice to have some position flexibility but it would also be really nice to just have one player be a DH for 75% or more of the season as well. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/martijo08.shtml Edit - He grades out pretty bad at first.
  17. Would Jose Martinez be a bad player to trade for? He doesn't fit in the NL because he's not a very good first basemen but he is a good hitter and easily could be the Twins DH the next few seasons. He's 30 but isn't a free agent until after 2022. He's also a right handed bat, which I feel like the Twins definitely could use. He would also be a good platoon with Mauer. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/depth-chart/STL/st-louis-cardinals https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/playerpage/1208943/jose-martinez
  18. The Twins would have to get quite the return if they're going to trade both players.
  19. I feel like the Twins would have to be blown away to trade Gibson. On a contending team he's a solid 3/4 in a rotation and he's already locked in for one more season. The only way I trade him is for a pitcher who is already at AA or higher, is pitching well and has a high floor / good ceiling.
  20. I have absolutely zero issue with the Twins signing Pineda. At that time the Twins realistically had Berrios and Santana are their main starters. Gibson had a handful of good starts toward the end of the season but that's it. Both Lynn and Odorizzi were signed well after him, so it was no guarantee the Twins were going to sign a starter or two. The pitchers still down in AAA are down there for a reason to continue working on their game. Hopefully he can start to ramp up his workouts and pitch a few games in September for either AAA or the Twins. The more options the Twins have the better.
