  1. It's Saturday afternoon, mowed the yard, washed some windows, Twins are on TV, I think its time for a beer or two...
  2. Gibby looks like he has the breaking ball working well so far. Nasty.
  3. This article needs to find its way into Falvey's email somehow...Hilarious. Thank you.
  4. Can't we just outsource the math questions above? I'd rather pay someone to do that then do it myself...Seems exhausting to me. It's Friday.
  5. I told you guys we would win. Everyone relax. It’s all good.
  6. Couple of quick rules for tonights game thread. Jinxes don't count tonight and naps are required for all participants in the 6th inning.
  7. You're welcome go sit back and relax. The game starts in 2 hours. This new game thread experience is so calming.
  8. Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to the Twins Daily game thread experience. Let me begin by saying everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax! It's not time to panic yet! By the way, did you read the thread Brock started the other day about "it's time to panic"? Loved it. Made me laugh out loud. But seriously, the two game losing streak the Twins have been on stops today. We have our big boy Ace Berrios throwing tonight and our lineup looks ready to again score a bunch of runs. I know our bullpen is the weakest link at the moment. However, I feel confident this front office will bring in reinforcements soon. The way this team is structured right now they are poised to make a long run into the playoffs if they can just tighten up the relievers. This Twins are gonna be rolling over teams all year. So what, they hit a little snag with the Indians...last week they killed the Rays. I personally think the Rays are better than Cleveland anyway. The Twins are going to beat up on Cleveland tonight. Looking forward to watching it! Relax, all is well. All is well (except for our bullpen). Go Twins! Tonights Lineups: TWINS: 1. Max Kepler CF 2. Jorge Polanco SS 3. Mitch Garver "Sauce" DH 4. 9. My thoughts exactly. Glad someone else thinks rationally around here.
  10. This lineup tonight is gonna crush. Gotta leave for a dinner event but will hopefully be back for the last couple of innings. My pick the click for tonight is Mr. Sano. Just gotta feeling.
  11. You're welcome! Everyone is invited. It's been a Twins Daily tradition for years.
  12. http://in2english.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/turkey.jpg Welcome back to another exciting Twins Daily game thread! The place where snappy conversation and arm chair quarterbacking are the norm. A place where fun banter and the occasional friendly jab at your Twins Daily counterparts is not only encouraged but allowed (please note I said friendly jab). Before we post the lineups tonight, I wanted to share with you, our gentle readers some things I was pondering at work today. I know we're still 6 months away from Thanksgiving but for some reason I'm just feeling thankful today for our Minnesota Twins. I started to think about all the disappointment and anguish we've endured as a fan base the last 8+ years and it's made me think about all the things I'm thankful for with this organization right now. In fact, I think I appreciate these things even more than I did in the past (kind of like the guy who appreciates a cold glass of water after a long hike in the hot desert). Please indulge me as I list out below a small list of things I'm thankful for regarding the Minnesota Twins: We have a 10.5 game lead over the Indians (soon to be 11.5 after tonight. Bet on it!)The Twins have the 2nd best record in baseballWe have a team that leads the league in runs scoredWe have a team that ranks #5 in the American league in pitching (based on ERA)Polanco ranks 2nd in batting average in the ALRosario is tied for 1st in AL with most home Runs and tied for 1st in RBI'sWe have two pitchers ranked in the top 5 in the AL with most wins (Berrios and Odorizzi) Perez will be in the top 5 after tonightOdorizzi is ranked 1st in the AL with the lowest ERA (1.97)Polanco and Buxton are in the top 5 in the AL with WAR (3.5 and 2.3 respectively)Minnesota ranks 4th in the AL, 6th in the entire league in fielding percentage Cruz and Garver are back in the lineupI think we have a very good pitching coachOur front office brain trust seems to know what they're doing (please sign Kimbrel) Sorry about the list above. I meant to keep it short but there's a lot to be thankful for at the moment. I'm just going to enjoy this time while it lasts and dream about the short days of late October. By the way, might as well post my menu for Thanksgiving a little early. 3 Turkey's: One on the Big Green Egg, One in the deep fryer and one in the oven Scalloped corn Oyster stuffing Sweet potato casserole Green bean casserole Garlic mashed potatoes Cranberry sauce 10 different pies 20 bottles of wine 5 bottles of Scotch (to get through until the family leaves) There is lot's to be excited about and thankful for this year people! 13. No, that loss still haunts my dreams.
  14. I raise my hand. I think the Twins can make it a 100 win season almost every year. I'm so deep down this rabbit hole I'm looking for an in-patient treatment program. By the way, Betty Ford quit taking Twins fans back in 2015.
  15. That last Yankee game in the pouring rain wasn't a real good indicator either. I think they can pound the Yankees when the time comes. They should have won that one against the Phillies too. It was a strange game all the way around.
  16. I'll take his paltry 5 homers in 12 games any day. Love the ratio. Other ratios not so hot...but let's give the young man another couple of months. I was not thrilled with him last year when he came to camp out of shape and overweight. I was calling for his head then. I think he might have matured a lot the last 12 months. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.
  17. THAT'S IT! I'M MOVING SOMEWHERE FAR AWAY INTO THE WOODS FIND A BIG ROCK TO CLIMB UNDER AND DIE OF EXPOSURE. THE SEASON IS A COMPLETE WASTE. EVEN MY DOG WANTS TO BE EUTHANIZED. THIS THREAD DID MAKE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD THOUGH!! BRILLIANT IDEA! WISH I HAD THOUGHT OF IT.
  18. Is it a bad sign if my wife didn't send notes of encouragement? Wait. Sorry....this is a Minnesota Twins site not Dear Abby. Apologies.
  19. I'm back to civilization after a brief trip into the Boundary Waters...It was a rough trip: Too much rain, cold, wind, bourbon and bears. However, I did make it back and looking forward to a game on the TV tonight versus the radio. I had to pry my rain gear off with a crowbar yesterday but I'm mostly in good health overall. Thanks for all the notes of encouragement while away on my adventure. Go Twins!
  20. Offensively this is the best Twins team I've ever seen. That doesn't necessarly correlate to a WS championship but it sure as hell makes them more fun to watch. I'm not an actuary but I'd also assume their chances of going deep into the playoffs this year are a lot better than 25+ teams in the league now. 21. Quick update from the BWCA...we just had a group of paddlers go by our camp. They asked if we had any beer to spare. I said, “not tonight, just bourbon”. They said thanks but “we’ll keep moving along”. Just as they passed by, the guy in the last canoe turned and hollered, “do you know how the Twins did today”? I yelled back, “hell yes!...They won again”! Quit asking stupid questions”! Figures....beer drinkers versus bourbon drinkers. They let anyone into this place...Gotta go back to tending the fire now. Cheers, Twinssporto CEO & Founder Minnesota Twins 2019 World Series Champions Fan Club
  22. It’s our last night in the BWCA woods. Listening to the game again in the boat today. Caught a bunch of fish...frying up some fresh walleye tonight for dinner. Will pour some more bourbon, thank the good Lord for our bounty and the WELY “end of the road” radio station. I’m half tempted to stay up here until the winning streak ends. Don’t want to jinx anything. Guess I’ll stay in the woods til October. Please send donations to PO Box: 1987-1991 Ely, MN 55114 Go Twins and cheers from somewhere near the Canadian border.
  23. I always knew this team was going to be great this year. I bet $1500 on the Twins to win ALCS back in December. Begged and pleaded for Perez signing and Cruz. Screamed for an extension for Kepler and Polanco...drafted Buxton, Odorizzi and Garver for fantasy league. Foresaw Rocco playing the shift in ways only actuaries could understand. Sorry...got lost in the camp fire. I might need to slow down on the bourbon...Loons won’t stop screaming. Camp finally dried out. Twins won too. Ecstasy!
  24. I’m listening to game on transistor radio by camp fire in the Boundary Waters. After we went up by 5 I decided to start pouring bourbon from a plastic flask. So happy...So wet and cold too. I’m ready to come home. I need to upgrade my rain gear too,
