  1. It was more like "Paradise by the Dash Board Light"
  2. Marney Gellner just talked about some Twins late night magic...Funny. I've used that line on my wife and didn't score.
  3. Nine hits White Sox, 2 for the the Twins through 8. We will totally win this game. What a joke.
  4. I stayed up after the game. Had to pour myself a victory Scotch. Didn't want to look like an alcoholic.
  5. By the way, just an idea. I think starting tonight and through the playoffs and World Series we should name or nominate 1 or 2 "Game Thread Captains" to each game thread. If we're gonna pull this team through we need to start building up the leadership around here. These game thread captains need to manage paranoia, jinxes, bad vibes, etc. This is a team effort people! I officially nominate anyone but me...Aggies would make an interesting choice though!
  6. http://wolterskluwerblogs.com/mediation/wp-content/uploads/sites/55/2015/05/magic-number-7.png Good afternoon and welcome back to another exciting game thread! After last nights win I'd prefer this game just go a standard 9 innings and we win by 10 or 12 runs. I can honestly say I stayed up until the final out was made and very glad I did. Entertaining game to say the least...Magic number now at 7!!!! Tonights game I think goes to the Twins. The momentum is there and I believe the Twins players can smell a division win just around the corner. If the Detroit Tigers had any pride in themselves and for the great game of baseball they should beat Cleveland tonight making our magic number 5... I wanted to write more but I'm tired after staying up so late...Pardon my brevity (inside joke from last nights game thread). My "pick the click" tonight is...Mr. Sano Lineups: TWINS: 1. Luis Arraez LF 2. Jorge Polanco SS 3. Nelson Cruz DH 4. Eddie Rosario RF 5. Miguel Sano 3B 6. Jake Cave CF 7. Jonathan Schoop 2B 8. Jason Castro C 9. Willians Astudillo 1B SP: Jake Odorizzi ® 14-6, 3.60 ERA WHITE SOX: 1. Leury Garcia CF 2. Tim Anderson SS 3. Jose Abreu DH 4. Yoan Moncada 3B 5. Eloy Jimenez LF 6. Zach Collins C 7. Yolmer Sanchez 2B 8. Matt Skole 1B 9. Daniel Palka RF SP: Ivan Nova ® 10-12, 4.86 ERA Weather: 79 degrees. 4% chance of rain. 8mph winds blowing out! (more bombas???)
  7. I'll think on that tonight. I'm in charge of the opener tomorrow. Stand by...
  8. I'm all in on Arraez. The kid is a gamer. He will be our starting 2nd baseman next year. It will be fun to watch how he does during the playoffs. I think he'll eat the Yankees pathetic pitching staff for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  9. I wouldn't with two outs. We may want Cruz's bat later
  10. Eddie for the Pizza Ranch win!!!! I love the drama!
  11. Cruz for the Pizza Ranch win! Common!!!!
  12. Polanco is going to get this rally started.
  13. I think they are playing tonight. Just checked radar and watched the local weather and it looks like the rain will hold off until late tonight. It better as I will be at the game. Look for me on the third base side behind the dugout.
  14. I don't mean to be an apologist for Rocco's lineup but I think I know what his intentions are. The Twins are going to win the division this year (yes, there is a 00.1%) they could choke but it's a statistical anomaly. Rest these guys and let's play for the ALDS. The Indians NEEDED to win today. The Twins not so much...
  15. Big Clevinger is toast for the next two weeks. Twins OWN this!!!
  16. http://www.kidsmathgamesonline.com/images/pictures/numbers600/number14.jpg Good morning Twins fans and welcome back to another exciting game thread extravaganza! After last night's big win our magic number now stands at 14! If we can manage to beat up Clevinger and the Indians today our magic number would reach 12. Despite the nice win yesterday we still faced some unfortunate news regarding one of our better pitchers. Big Mike Pineda will be going away for awhile...a 60 game suspension is not something I really wanted to see at the moment but I think this team will prevail. If you're nervous and frustrated I posted a few soothing links that will put your mind at ease. Let's start with some light happy music. The Twins are in first place! If you lived in the Twin Cities back in 87 and 91 and listened to KQRS this should bring back some good memories. This clip also has the pennant polka and the Twins team song. Turn up the volume on your computer and relax a little. http://www.radiotapes.com/Airchecks/Twins_1987_Music.mp3 If the above music still didn't put your anxiety in check maybe this tune will do it. The song seems fitting since today is a Sunday and it's still morning when I posted this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DSVMDmzCcA Hopefully these links work! If not, my whole thread just got flushed down the toilet...It's ok though. I'm relaxed and fully expecting the Twins to win the division, smoke the Astros and destroy the Yankees with or without Big Mike Pineda. P.S. Today's lineup is interesting... Let's go Twins!!! Lineups: TWINS: 1. Max Kepler RF 2. Mitch Garver DH 3. J. Polanco SS 4. Eddie Rosario LF 5. Willians Astudillo C 6. Luis Arraez 3B 7. Ehire Adrianza 1B 8. LaMonte Wade CF 9. Jonathan Schoop 2B SP: Randy Dobnak 0-0, 0.00 ERA INDIANS: 1. F. Lindor SS 2. O. Mercado CF 3. C. Santana 1B 4. Yasiel Puig RF 5. Jason Kipnis 2B 6. F. Reyes DH 7. Greg Allen LF 8. Kevin Plawecki C 9. Yu Chang 3B SP: Mike Clevinger ® 10-2, 2.71 ERA Weather: Cloudy with precipitation likely 20% chance. 60 degrees.
  17. I never thought I would say this but Duff is a stud.
  18. Yankees don't have any arms either...It will be an arms race...No pun intended.
  19. This news hurts but it's not going to put this team into a death spiral. The Twins do have other pitching options and those guys either step up or they don't. If I were one of the new pitchers that got called up I would look at this as my golden opportunity to be a hero and help win a World Series. It will be fun to see if anyone can step up and make something happen.
