  1. If we could get rid of Bremer, I would be a happy man. Part-time color guys in order of likeability are Hawkins, Morneau, and Hunter and I think Hawkins is terrible. They all sound unprofessional a majority of the time. It makes you appreciate a true professional broadcaster and how much talent and time it takes to sound polished in the booth. I will admit that Hawkins, Morneau, and Hunter all have potential and each have likeable aspects to them.
  2. Why Jimenez pitching, just why? With the September call ups there were plenty of other arms available. That was a pig show throwing Jimenez out there.
  3. Shining the spotlight on Berrios and his recent back slide got me thinking about other highlights of our Twins 2018 season. Eddie Rosario has cooled off as of late. Gibson, Forsythe, Cave, and Austin are (somewhat) bright lights that have not exactly set the world on fire. When does spring training 2019 begin?
  4. He needs playing time and ABs at the big league level. Now.Buxton has thrived when he's healthy and comfortable and confident.
  5. Obviously, this club is just playing out the string and cashing a paycheck. Hopefully the September call ups will breath some life into the rest of the season.
  6. This town needs a title from a team not named the Lynx. Go Saints!
  7. Kudos for the positive outlook and putting the 2018 disaster into perspective.
  8. The highlights were encouraging. It's nice to get some positive vibes again regarding our Twins. Buxton is still the future and I agree we should shut him down at the MLB level and put him on the shelf and let the sunshine of spring training 2019 heal the wounds.
  9. It was great to have Morris play with the Saints. I had forgotten the Yankees offered him a chance and he declined. It was probably for the best that Jack hung up the cleats at that time, although the Yankees won the 1996 World Series. I wonder if Jack has any regrets at not giving it a shot with the Yanks and adding another ring to his collection?
  10. 2018 is an F as of now. If they right the ship and play .500 the rest of the way they could maybe pull that grade up to a D. They failed this season on nearly all levels and deserve an F grade. Maybe dumping Escobar, Dozier, et al. at was the right move long term - time will tell. In the meantime it helps them earn an F for 2018.
  11. Being (mostly) terrible from 2010-2016 and then sneaking into the wild card game in 2017 lead me to state this isn't a rebuild, just one continual build since the Gardy days.
  12. Yes, agreed. You sound like a starry eyed dreamer optimist after my own heart. I also note the Twins have a four game series next week in Cleveland.
  13. The only drum I can bang at this juncture is that the Twins have seven games against the Cleveland baseball club between now and August 9. That's it.
  14. If Kepler maxes out as an average outfielder, that isn't a bad puzzle piece to the club's long term success. Of course, the hope is for greater things. I believe the finished Kepler product will be fun to watch over the next 5 years.
  15. There has been much churn and turnover of the Saints roster this season. This is a factor that could lead to diminished home performance as the Saints haven't had time for the roster to jell.
  16. This team was left for dead numerous times in 2017 and came back and grabbed the wild card. That is a feather in Molly's cap as far as inspiration. Just recently, he inspired the Twins to a 9-2 homestead to breathe a (short lived) moment of hope in a lost 2018 season. Molly isn't above reproach, I'm just not a big fan of this particular criticism.
  17. Why dismiss Astudillo? He certainly deserves a chance at the MLB level in some fashion - a real chance. Why not at catcher? Especially if the Twins aren't all in on Garver. At this point the Bobby Wilson experiment seems pointless.

    Fools Gold

Ok, it doesn't sound like adding (possibly) Buxton, Sano, and Santana in the 2nd half excites you. To me, you are not only saying the Twins should be sellers at this year's deadline, you are essentially advocating a rebuild. I am not ready to punt on the Buxton/Sano era yet. Not by a longshot.
  19. The horror of it all is that we are stuck with Beemer for the next 20+ years. Apparently, people dig insufferable stories of his hometown and his affinity for defending overpaid and underperforming players. A few days ago, I heard Dick lamenting that he hoped the launch angle and exit velocity revolution would die and go away soon since you can hit a ball hard with little launch angle and still get a base hit (almost sure he rolled out the Joe Mauer example, don't quote me in that though). Dick did make a good point that strikeouts need to decrease.
  20. No. That is his main (and only) responsibility there. He was making his way over there from the get go. The runner was also going back to 2nd base. Dozier noticed the runner was a few steps ahead of him so let off the gas. The only way Doz was winning that race was if the runner tripped.
  21. With Baddison Reed on the shelf, it is nice to get Hildy back where he belongs. Nice success story.
  22. Hey, if the Twins can run the table before the All-Star break, maybe they can get back in the AL Central race. Why not us?
  23. It's interesting how a deeper dive almost always seems to reveal Kirby Puckett's stats aren't as great as originally thought. I still say he's the greatest Twins player ever.
