  1. I didn't see any nonsensical moves. Can you provide examples?
  2. You've heard nothing like that from the Twins. In fact, I would not be at all surprised if our scouts find one they like during ST.
  3. There is nothing that says Jepsen won't be resigned, May won't continue in the pen, and Perkins still has a contract for several years. The pen will be at least average this year and move up in 2017. The strength of the farm system is power arms in the pen.
  4. The White Sox find a way to shoot themselves in the foot every year. Why should this year be any different?
  5. I agree. My thought is once Buxton takes over CF, Polanco will really put the pressure on Santana and Nunez.
  6. What Milone is, is a proven starter on a contending team with a career record of 41-29. When Berrios is called up, he'll still have plenty of time to win the ROY and Cy Young.
  7. Perkins is a 3 time All-Star closer. I don't believe it to be accurate, but some on the board felt May was one of our best starters and he was moved to be pen. Jepsen has been outstanding since joining our favorite team.
  8. Park won't take one PA from Sano. Arcia and Vargas are not locks to make the team. At worst, this is a depth move in case Arcia and Vargas disappoint again.
  9. What's apparent is every year is different and the past is not a perfect predictor of the future. I wouldn't make assumptions based on SSS.
  10. I never said he wasn't. Competition is a good thing and he only cost money right? Didn't a wise man once say Terry Ryan is pathologically adverse to taking risks?
  11. I didn't know there was a proper mix on a contending team. Can you provide the math and science to support your position?
  12. Rocketpig, Plouffe was never on the table, as Sano is 20-25 errors waiting to happen at 3B and is more than athletic enough to play the outfield. He brought in Park because he wasn't going to gamble 2016 on Arcia and/or Vargas. After all Park only cost money right? What is being missed is we didn't need to trade our top prospects. To make what King Theo would consider a major deal would have cost Berrios and/or Polanco.
  13. TR wasn't going to gamble the season on Arcia or Vargas at DH, just as he wasn't going to gamble the season with Sano at 3B.
  14. Really, Bill Smith? Sarcasm?
  15. Indeed, the the team was completely rebuilt. No one said the improvement was over or the team has peaked. Why not share with the board your understanding of how our favorite team went from four 90 loss seasons in a row to a team which was in the hunt all last season?
  16. Santana is out of options. He can't beat out Nunez, and Polanco is knocking on the door. This is his last chance with our favorite team.
  17. If our favorite team makes a big deal it will involve Berrios and/or Polanco. Don't expect the board scapegoats to garner much. Plouffe won't be traded until math and science proves Sano won't put up 20-25 errors.
  18. Actually, the greatest trick TR ever pulled was completely rebuilding a mid-market team in less than 4 years.
  19. I say that's impossible. Our bullpen depth does not depend on one player, and Jepsen can regress a great deal and still be solid. Perkins is an All-Star closer until he`s not.
  20. Not so. Most likely the biggest improvement on the team will be the bullpen. Perkins, Jepsen, and May alone will move us somewhere towards the middle. Fien is solid. Plenty of time to add additional pieces for what will likely be our 5th, 6th, and 7th bullpen arms. At some point in time, pitching becomes a numbers game and we certainly have the numbers with minor league free agents and a number of near ready top prospects. No one will deny the handling of the bullpen was frustrating last season, but the past is not a perfect predictor of the future. I'm more concerned with our starters and our offense. I do feel the competition in ST will be fierce for bullpen arms and am very curious what the pecking order will be when they break camp. Too much talent at the top with the big 3, and too much talent in the pipeline to fail.
