  1. Granite playing over Rosario is questionable at best. You already have Castro, Buxton and Berrios hitting. You can't afford to bench one of your 3 best hitters.
  2. If the Padres score here, that's ballgame. Our offense is pathetic.
  3. Gimenez has no value. He's average on D and hits .190. Just say thanks for your veteran presence and DFA him already.
  4. I think Kintzler will be the only one dealt. Perhaps Belisle.
  5. Should have been done weeks ago. A 10-day DL stint followed by rehab and bring him back after 9/1. It's not hard.
  6. I agree on Grossman. A DH who goes 2 months without hitting a HR? Pathetic, I don't care how many walks he draws. At best he's a 4th OF'er and his D isn't good enough for that.
  7. Trade Kintzler, Grossman and Belisle. DL Polanco. Activate Buxton and call up Vargas and 2 relievers. Give Hildenberger the 1st shot at the closer role. Rogers clearly isn't it.
  8. Who'd have figured Matt Belisle would have trade value?
  9. I'd trade Grossman if they can get anything of value
  10. Right? I swear some folks must put their 70 year old mother in the home the first time she loses her car keys. We were 0.5 game out one week ago and now we're talking about 2019? I would not trade anyone who can help in 2018 unless what they get back offsets it or is overwhelming. If 2018 doesn't pan out we can trade Dozier and Santana a year from now. Kintzler/Garcia are the only ones I'd definitely move. But if anything of value can be had for Grossman or Castro I'd move them too.
  11. Not shocking that Rogers hit a tough stretch. Was saying they should have left Belilsle for the 8th and used Rogers in the 9th. Not sure it would have mattered
  12. Garcia shutting out the Dodgers through 4. Of course, I wouldn't want to throw him against them twice in 5 days.
  13. Really glad we're clinging to Breslow like grim death.
  14. It's giving one start to a guy who was an All-star last year but is probably done. It's not worthy of an intense reaction either way.
  15. All of this. There is literally no downside to this at all. There will be plenty of chances to watch the kids of the season blows up. People want Gibson gone. They want Santiago gone. They want Santana traded. They're irate we signed Colon. How many kids do y'all think we have that can pitch up here?
  16. You're right on Radke. He was under-appreciated. He took some heat after getting a 'huge' contract in the late 90's for not earning his 'ace' salary. But he was who he was. The shoulder may have forced him out a year or two sooner, but I think he was satisfied and wanted to go watch his kids grow up. He was never a guy who was going to be pitching at 38-39 IMO.
  17. This is a team that has started Turley and Wilk. This might be the biggest over-reaction I've ever seen on here.
  18. This game shows how poor Molitor's game management was yesterday. You have the lead in the 7th inning and you hold Duffey and Rodgers for a tomorrow that doesn't come.
  19. Terrible at bat for Buxton there. ugh.
  20. If we're desperate for starting pitching, why are we trading Santana? He can be under control through 2019, and despite his nice start, no one is giving us a massive haul for him.
  21. I never doubted Castro for a moment. Believe me.
  22. Ugh. Now we have to depend on Castro to not strike out or hit a ground ball. Good luck.
  23. I was referencing Escobar and Adrianza obviously. We don't need both of them on the bench.
  24. Not him specifically, but we run at least two .200 hitters out there every night, and Rosario is streaky as hell. Meanwhile we cling to having two redundant middle infielders.
