  1. Sazuki, Plouffe and Nolasco (if possible) need to be traded for whatever they can get. Abad, Kintzler, Boshers and Grossman should be traded if there is anything close to a reasonable return, but none are FA's. I would like to see one of Escobar, Nunez or Dozier (in that order) traded to create a spot for Polanco. I think Escobar is essentially odd-man out going forward. I'm torn on E. Santana. He's not been good, but if we trade him, we're probably going to be looking for starting pitching in FA again that won't be any better. I'd rather be locked into Santana for 2 more years than FA Pitcher X for 4.
  2. They should have sent Park down for Santana and given Arcia regular AB's at DH for the first time all year. When Sano is ready, they could have either gone down to 7 in the bullpen (Neil Ramirez does not need to be on this team) or sent Buxton back There was no good reason for them to DFA Arcia when they did. If he'd gone 1-40 these last two weeks, at least they would be more justified if they wanted to do so when Sano is ready.
  3. Park. Period. Sano in RF needs to be over, so he is the DH. Not only does Park need time at AAA, he will not pay if he stays up.
  4. And don't you want to pay $$$ for the right to witness it in person?
  5. That's an insult to Jeb! I think he still has more delegates than the Twins do wins.
  6. 1. Fire Terry Ryan. 2. Fire Molitor. 3. Release Jepsen. 4. Release Sazuki. 5. Trade Plouffe. 6. Trade/release Nolasco.
  7. Pitching to Longoria there is just laughable. Completely inexcusable. Fire everyone.
  8. We don't want to use Abad, our best pitcher. Jepsen and Hughes will get the job done.
  9. The guy has been absolute batting practice for months and has an ERA of 6. He is literally our worst reliever right now, but he's our closer because the manager is stubborn. Pathetic.
  10. Molitor logic: Time for Jepsen! I mean he's my closer and we're at home...
  11. A 4-1 lead that should have been 6-1 and we're going to lose. Pathetic.
  12. Between refusing to ever PH for Suzuki and pitching to Longoria, my confidence in Molitor is gone.
  13. How do you not PH Arcia here?
  14. So surprised and disappointed at Duffy's collapse the last several starts. Who's left to call up? Darnell? Albers? Ugh.
  15. Knee + Escobar's #'s against Smiley. That said, Plouffe should be DH'ing instead of Park.
  16. The Mets would probably take Plouffe right now. His value is minimal and isn't going to change much on 7/31 or in the off-season. Get what you can and move on.
  17. How long until Arcia goes on the DL with splinters in his lower body?
  18. An entire Mauer thread with no $ signs. I'm so proud.
  19. He'll be day-to-day until next Tuesday than go to the DL.
  20. Much like Nick Punto, Sazuki hits much better when he doesn't play every day. If only they could have developed a plan over many years not to play him every day.
  21. Has there been a more fearsome stolen base combo in MLB history than Tonkin/Suzuki
  22. How much do they have to eat to give him away for nothing?
  23. If they play .500 ball starting today (that's probably as good as they are capable of) they will still lose 90 games. All that's left of this season is to see what degree the dumpster fire is.
  24. The payroll this year is roughly the same as 2010. In reality, their revenue this year is probably flat versus 2010. While local/national TV money is somewhat higher, they will sell less tickets. Also, in 2010 they were still receiving revenue sharing from the Metrodome days. That went away in 2011. That said, I will not apologize for the Pohlads. They could easily afford a $120-130 million payroll as almost everyone else in the division has.
  25. What can Terry do? What can Paul do?
