  1. apparently, I'm not yet ready for Robert Frost. Unless Dozey can hit a 6-run homer here, and I can get back to biz-nez. On the other hand, check out the Lego Stopping by Woods I found....
  2. Ach. Gott im Himmel. Und me mitout der TV access. Vat ta Heck chust happenedt?
  3. Omg. Dunse, then Boyer. Well, back to work. At least I have Robert Frost to look forward to.
  4. Cheslor Cuthbert now playing 3rd.... Wha...? I thought he was on the polo team, eh what? My word. I do say.
  5. I usually use the CBS sportsline gameday thingy- but sometimes, it's quizzical-- 4 Byron Buxton 2. 95 mph Fastball Strike looking 1 - 1 1. 95 mph Fastball Ball 1 - 0 3 Alex Rios Rios grounded out to shortstop 2 Kurt Suzuki Suzuki singled to right 1 Eduardo Escobar Escobar struck out swinging Ummm.... what th....? Mid-game trade?
  6. Oops, missed the last one: 5. 100 mph Fastball Strike swinging 2 - 3
  7. From CBS sports Gametracker: 4 Kurt Suzuki 4. 100 mph Fastball Strike swinging 2 - 2 3. 91 mph Changeup Foul 2 - 1 2. 99 mph Fastball Ball 2 - 0 1. 100 mph Fastball Ball 1 - 0 Holy......
  8. Has all the ingredients of a Snapper Wheels Come Off Inning.
  9. Ouch. Could be dangerous.
  10. Although you only have to shout "catch it, Dan!" once.
  11. Boy, better get on this Medlen guy before the BP cranks up.
  12. Is it legal for us to have 3 Eddie's in a row? Or do we need more?
  13. Just getting in, Pelf with a clean 1st- how about that. I've ripped him a ton on this thread, tho, not him personally, but the way he's been used. The Twinks got a run of good starts out of him, and he should have had a couple of more wins with a modicum of support. But, he should have been in the pen all year long, and it's an easy call. Between that issue, and the Esco issue, I have no doubt we'd be in a far better place playoff potential-wise. But I digress. My point is that, although Pelf has not done well in his starts for a long while now, I have to give the guy major props. He battled his way back from what is for many a career-ending injury. EVen came back nearly a year earlier than expected for most people who've had TJ, and he worked his butt off to do it. For that, I salute the guy wholeheartedly. There's no denying he's got talent, and there's really no denying he's got cojones. The issue, though, lies in the unrealistic expectations put on him by the club. They made the right call when they originally dropped him to the pen in favor of May, but then, with the injury and ineffectiveness issues, they went back on that. He also expressed in no uncertain terms his unhappiness with it, and that, I think, was another key factor in the Twinks knuckling under. They shouldn't have. Someone made a great point in the Pelf-being-replaced thread, about his stuff getting barreled up 2nd or 3rd time through- shoot, sometimes even 1st time through! But velocity and movement wise, he would be so much more effective facing guys only once. Yeh, his ego was bruised, and he worked hard to get back to starting, but the obvious choice was the pen, and the Twins should have stuck to it. Hats off to Pelf's effort. A big, fat, season-long raspberry to Molly and TR for not giving him and the team the best chance to use his talent and drive.
  14. Is Medlen the right-handed Tommy Milone? Just imagining those guys back-t0-back in a Braves rotation. Maddening for hitters, if they're on.
  15. OH! I forgot my whine! Sorry, am I still on? Hello? beeeeping* Molitor, and his beeeep* beeeep* inexplicable beeeeping* lineups lately, it's like he's trying to challenge his club to win while giving them some self-inflicted beeeeeeeeping* adversity to deal with. Builds beeeeepity* beeeep* character, or something, I don't know. Where's Vargas?! Where is beeeeeeeep* beeeeepity* beeep* Vargas? Hottest hitter in AAA in August- let's get him up here and sit him down, and let Hunter and Poof kill rallies. Let's shut down the young guy with the ace curveball that not a lot of AL hitters have seen yet, and put Dr. Destructo Pelfrey in the rotation instead. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* Inconceivably bad management. In-con-beeeeeeeepity beeeep beeeeep* -ceivable. Well, at least we haven't seen Boyer much lately. I guess that's something. I'll hang up and listen.
  16. How much you wanna bet Little Nicky shows up in a coaching box in Dee-troit? Hopefully not a batter's box.
  17. He'll look good in Tiger whites. And it's a good club for him, with all the vets around. But I still miss Leyland over there, cupping his hand around a smoke, peeping out of the dugout like he's ducking snipers in 'Nam.
  18. Haw haw haw! I nearly got a snot bubble.
  19. Cripe again. A blind monkey on a Sauza bender could throw darts at a lineup card and do better than this.
  20. Heh.... Poof grounded into a DP. And in other news.... FFS. Cripe, Vargas can ground into DPs. Why ain't he in that spot, and Poof down in the 6 or 7 hole where he belongs? F'in Molly. I had such hope this year for Non-Gardenhire. But my honeymoon with the Hall of Famer was over long ago.
  21. Hey Bark! Bark? You around? I think we need Kennys Vargas in a freaking Where's Waldo sweater. Thanks, Molly, for DHing Hunter today. He sure needs the ABs to get in tune for his bright future with the Twins next year, and he hit out of his freaking mind in AAA the past month. Oops, wait, wrong guy, sorry. So, not only does Gibby dig a rather large hole, we get another WTF lineup from the 'brainthrust.'
  22. Heh- this job stuff. I was so regretting having to miss key September games, with just a quick check-in from time to time. So, I checked on the way to a quick meeting. 1st and 2nd, nobody out, bottom 1- I thought, oh, this looks bad. I wonder how bad. I'm thinking 2-0 first inning. Then the meeting ends, and it's 4-0, still nobody out. Now, I'm so thankful for the opportunity to finish my Morphemes powerpoint. Thanks, Twinkies, for letting me off the hook so I can enjoy work today! I know, I know, this ain't over. I'll check back in after 3rd period anyway. It's like drugs, I guess.
