    I was reminded from a Facebook memory... On this day, March 21, 2010, Joe Mauer signed an 8/$183 million extension. $23 million AAV was wild at the time for the Twins... I guess times haven't changed in that regard.

    Lake Minnetonka gets very deep in spots over 100 ft in depth. It’s no joke. I have more empathy with Correa because I almost drowned myself on the lake. I’m forever thankful to my friend David De La Pena who recognized I was struggling and jumped in to save me.

    Not Vikings or draft related. Just wanted to let y'all know Jerome Bettis Jr. exists. Starting to feel old reading these names. It won't be long and Adrian Peterson's many kids will spawn on college rosters and probably some NFL rosters.

    Depends how aggressive we are with prospect promotions this year... If injuries derail the difference makers like Jenkins, E-Rod, Priellipp etc, or we punt on promoting them, it will be difficult to hit a stretch goal of 75 wins. Sad to say.

    Same. They'll end up taking another developmental tackle in the late rounds. Rouse is probably just a camp body at this point in his career.

    Really surprised Chafin didn't make the opening day roster here based on his track record. And bummed that a character like him won't be around.

    Hey now, 2013 and 2014 was bad enough that the Star Tribune's Twins season preview talked about Buxton and Sano down in A ball or rookie ball at the time. Silver linings!

    I completely agree with this statement too. KOC has a little more Brad Childress in him than I'd like. His way or the highway. It will be fascinating to see if the offense changes to cater to Kyler Murray's strengths. JJM has a good chance of joining the exclusive list of Anthony Richardson, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Josh Rosen, Matt Leinart, and Akili Smith of top 10 overall QBs who lost their starting job by year 3 over the last 30 years. We will be just fine without the 9 memes.

    Whenever we hire the new GM, their first priority needs to be overhauling the scouting department. I haven't heard or read much about changing that department since Spielman's time.

    It's okay to just say you hate this stuff too. MLB is likely to ban Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz for life, and both are due on trial to serve prison time. And MLB just partnered with the company advertising the same type of gambling bets Clase and Ortiz are in big trouble for. It's un-regulated gambling branded as "Prediction Market". I have personally seen a couple of friends become addicted to sports gambling. Every day without question, who cares which sport. It's abundantly clear where discretionary funds are going for them instead of meeting the group for a drink(s)/activity.

    I also forgot the team forced him to play with a broken throwing hand when we were eliminated from the playoffs weeks prior.

    Something has felt off about McCarthy and the Vikings since he first injured his knee in preseason 2024. Off the top of my head… - Required a 2nd knee later on in 2024 season - Lost a ton of weight. Durability concerns are raised. - Team gets mad when JJM didn’t disclose ankle injury in 2025 - is made QB 3 at Chargers and played a broken Wentz instead. - KOC spends multiple weeks relentlessly talking about JJM’s mechanics - JJM defies his coach griddying into the end zone and JJM said KOC telling him not to do that made him want to do that even more. - Countless leaks about the team dumbing down the offense, removing pass routes over middle of the field - Countless leaks that KOC was over ruled and never wanted to play JJM last year

    I wouldn't lose any sleep on the 2 names you mentioned. Do Orze or Klein really have a chance at being something better than marginal?

    I would prefer those 2 over Kent and Orze. Probably over Topa too at this stage in the season.

    I'm skeptical that Wentz would sign with the Vikings this early in the offseason to be a QB 3. If that is the case, why wouldn't he wait out the QB market like he did last year? I'm trying not to get tunnel vision but in my eyes the plan has been clear since before the regular season ended. They were gonna load up the QB room with veterans because KOC is done with JJM.

    A 4th sounds right... Maybe conditional to a 3rd or 2nd depending on games played or snap count. I've had the feeling since the offseason began that KOC has given up on him. So it's time to rip off the band aid and move on.
