    Luckily you can find a couple of safe sanctuaries online with integrity and policies in place to comment on your interests. TD is certainly that for me. I couldn't tell you how many times I've typed in a comment for political/sports discussions on social media, and deleted it all. There's too much stupid involved in social media that it's not worth the trouble.

    If the argument to keep Buxton in AAA for the short term is to get him back up to speed, fine, I can live with that. If the argument to keep Buxton in AAA is because of his previous stats and not earning it, that's where I disagree. If we took a poll of all TD posters, the typical range we would see on wins this season would be between 75-85 wins. That's not going to be enough for the playoffs even on the high end of that scale. I would rather sacrifice a couple of wins this year by giving Buxton the at bats and MLB experience to hit the ground running in 2016. Otherwise what's the topic going to be going into next year? I can already see the articles in the Star Tribune now.... Buxton has less than 100 ABs in the MLB..... he's not ready to be the full-time starter. Someone equivalent to Jordan Schafer gets signed to handle the RF or CF position until early June.

    The real question that relates towards the Buxton dilemma. Where do you view this team? Do you think they can get through this slump and still be contending in September? Or did you wave the white flag and it's over? If it's the latter, then Torii should begin the decline in playing time to make room for younger talent. A 39 year old should not have the most playing time out of all OF options on a non-contending team.

    100% on board with that. I didn't watch his last start, but from what I read he was having troubles with velocity barely getting it to 90 MPH? If that's the case, let him rest, rehab, whatever he needs to do to get right again next season.

    I don't claim to remember a vast majority of these guys listed in the trade examples... I recall Luis Castillo working out well. The one that stuck out to me and should include an asterisk is Johan Santana. He was a Rule 5 pick that year. The Twins had the #1 pick, Marlins #2. So essentially they swapped picks (cash received in deal) so the Marlins could select Jared Camp, and the Twins selected Johan. I guess you could consider that a trade? But again, that goes back to the debate of does the credit go to the person scouting the player or the GM turning in the card.....

    The only question you need to ask is this. Is Buxton a better option than Shane Robinson? Yes? Great, bring him up.

    Completely agree with you Seth. It doesn't make any sense to use an option year on Buxton this year if a week later it's September call up time. He can easily take Shane Robinson's spot on the roster after the rehab session.

    Proof from any media outlet that this is for certain? If it is, what a mistake that will be. You shake Torii's hand at the end of the season, tell him thanks for transitioning the team out of the AL Central cellar, and MOVE ON.

    I don't know about y'all, but I am tired of reading the same quotes each year taking responsibility for the roster, and getting zero repercussion from it. I get it, GMs in every sport are paid to lie and deceive, but when are we all going to hit our breaking point with TR and finally call him out on his responsibility for the outcome of this roster?

    The Twins have punted any opportunity to improve so far. Might as well stay consistent with that approach.

    Another example of a buyers market this season, and no sign of a trade being made at One Twins Way.. I guess TR is thinking why pay Black Friday prices when you can wait for the "Everything Must Go!" sale in August... Ugh.

    I can't guess he will be a SS 3 years from now just like you can't guess he won't. All I know is if his SS playing days are numbered, he still has an elite bat that can stick in a non-premium position on the field, or DH.

    All fine and dandy, can't argue with your reasoning that C and RP are pressing needs. Unfortunately C was not available, and an elite SS was at a discounted price. The Twins need a lot of things to go right (Polanco's D MIGHT improve, Gordon MIGHT be ready by 18/19) They are all still question marks....

    I would have loved to trade those pieces now to get an elite SS that solves a huge question mark in 2016-17-18-19. I don't believe buyer's markets come around too often, and we could be missing out on acquiring high end talent at Costco-like prices.

    If the Twins truly stand pat, no bullpen guys, no C, no SS acquisitions, then we can kiss the WC berth goodbye. I'm fine with trying internal options in the bullpen, literally throw names in a hat. But clearly someone on staff is either too loyal to the current players, or does not believe there are difference makers in the farm. The other positions I guess we're stuck with Santana/Escobar/Nunez at SS and Suzuki behind the plate. Idk I'm off my posting game today. It's not every year that a guy at Tulo's level is available and we weren't able to close a deal from the initial conversation with them. Just disappointing.

    Plouffe has done well to continue his progression as a well rounded 3B. I would want him back next season and see who wins the job in ST between him and Sano. Or if he can be a trade chip to shore up either SS or C, even better. When it comes to extending his contract beyond 2016, please don't do it.

    I doubt that anyone would be asking about E. Santana in any trade negotiation. He's certainly pitched well so far, but I would file him under "untradeable contracts" Especially when there are others of higher caliber supposedly available for trade.

    You could sell me on a Joe Mauer Quickswing being a better option in the bullpen at this point... Put their names in a hat and draw one out to get the call. There's a number of options to DFA and make room for Duffey, Rogers, Berrios or whoever they choose.
