  1. Spending the day in tears? You should probably look into a new company there, Dinger.
  2. First job... ah the good old days. It seems like most get into the service industry with food, hotels, etc.. I suppose my first job where people paid me was mowing yards in the neighborhood.. I love yard work and took a lot of pride making the neighborhood look great. The first job with a real W2 I was working in the produce department at one of my hometown's grocery stores. For a 15 year old $7.00 an hour was really good money! Most of the time it was pretty slow, so to pass the time we would go to the storage room and play baseball with rotten apples/pears/oranges.. The best job I've ever had to this date was working for the Parks and Rec department at my hometown during the summers.. I was given free reign to a Toro vehicle and would drive to each ballpark in the town to get it ready for the kiddo's ballgames.
  3. What's your favorite song to hit the post on RB?
  4. Tonight I'm expecting a lot of nerves from Berrios, but we'll get a chance to see some electric stuff from him. My goal for Berrios is to remain in the MLB rotation for the rest of the season.
  5. The bandwagon was gaining speed downhill when I jumped off.... But I found the next pickup spot to hop back on! http://thumb101.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/65241/313081373/stock-photo-man-with-leg-in-neck-brace-knee-cages-and-crutches-for-stabilization-and-support-resting-on-a-sofa-313081373.jpg
  6. He's the guy I've been waiting for to make his debut.. Welcome to the big leagues Berrios! I think the first game there will be a lot of nerves, but we'll see a lot of electric stuff on Wednesday. I have high hopes that within the next year or 2, he becomes the ace of the rotation.
  7. The weird part, I think, is having that big of a disconnect in communication between Murphy and management. It sounds like the expectations were set by TR when he was signed... 2 weeks of tuning up in AAA and we'll give you a call up to the majors. It's unrealistic to think TR's had a lot of conversations with him over the last 2 weeks, but I would imagine that Mike Quade's had conversations with him. Was Murphy playing a good soldier and hiding the fact he really didn't want to play baseball anymore? Did Quade misread the situation and didn't pick up on the signs that Murphy's mind was on other things?
  8. If what Berardino says is true, this is a panic move and a complete disconnect in communication between TR and Murphy. Surely this had to have been discussed between TR and Murphy before this plan went into effect, right? Or did TR act on this without speaking to Murphy first?
  9. RIP Buxton... See you in a month or 2.
  10. Hence why I don't grow out a goatee.. My hair is as blonde as they come.
  11. That blonde goatee looks awful on Felix Hernandez
  12. Man, Twins baseball has been so fun to watch the last couple of days...
  13. It's being extended at home once the company picked up the tab. Just ordered pizza, and the Wild game doesn't start for another hour.. What to do.
  14. I'm not sure what I just walked into after an extended happy hour, but I don't like it.
  15. Ignoring the buzzkill... Anyways, I remember taking a family vacation to Washington DC. God it had to have been 8-10 years ago now back when Bush was in the office. There's certainly a lot to see in that city? District? I think the coolest place I saw was going to the top of the Washington Monument and overlooking the Lincoln Memorial. I couldn't imagine how it looked when Martin Luther King was giving his "I Have a Dream Speech" where it was filled to the brim with people.
  16. When did we start talking about turtles? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y
  17. I believe Milone is out of options... if it were me, I'd DFA Fien to add Berrios to the 40 man, move Milone to the pen, and call up Berrios.
  18. For this season yeah, I could certainly see a scenario where May becomes the closer. Do you think he could be in that role for multiple years? Or would someone like Shaggy or Burdi be the next multi-year closer?
  19. Yeah that's true. I'm putting the cart before the horse. Just reading about his stuff in the off-season and now reading about him dominating AA hitters has me intrigued. I'm hoping either him or Burdi could be the next multi-year closer for this team.
  20. I remember Jose Mijares back in the day was a AA call-up without going to AAA first. Has there been other recent examples of Twins calling up a bullpen arm from AA? If Jepsen doesn't return to form here, I'd love to see Shaggy as the closer for the Twins...
  21. Wow. Alright that may be enough Twins for me tonight.
  22. In Wisconsin that music is on every current top 40 station! I've also heard that the iPhone 1 is the latest and greatest technology available...
  23. There's no other swing for Arcia other than try to launch it into outer space.
  24. If Bob Uecker was our play by play guy... "And Dozier hits a ROCKET over the 1st baseman! Carter's lucky his head wasn't decapitated from that ball!"
