  1. For all of the Jason Castro fans, per Mike Berardino on Twitter: #MNTwins and Jason Castro's rep had "agreed to reconvene" next week, I'm told. Target Field meetings w/senior scouts should start Mon/Tue. And per MLB Trade Rumors: The Twins did meet with Castro’s representation during the GM Meetings this week, tweets Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press (via Twitter), though the two sides only discussed “general needs and wants” at the time. Sounds like they had a good first date. Will Falvey wait three days to call Castro and ask him out again?
  2. I understand that's what Falvey's focus is on, the long-term outlook of the organization and building the organizational departments. Isn't Levine supposed to be the one focused on the roster along with wheeling and dealing?
  3. Even though the Twins are standing pat here, this feels like a very risky proposition. We're assuming here that Ervin stays hot and keeps his value high until July... It could happen! Or he could have a clunker year too and lose that momentum we have right now. Same thing with Dozier, though I don't believe he's as risky as Santana to keep. Don't think there's a right or wrong answer, it just feels like we're taking on more risk doubling down on another very good season from Ervin and Dozier.
  4. Watching him hit was literally the only reason for people like me to turn on Twins games during the dog days of summer.
  5. If we finally see some of the awesome RP prospects that's been touted for years, I'll be a happy guy. I hate being this guy, but I don't think we'll see Gonsalves until September at the earliest, that is if there isn't a regression from last season. Jay I don't anticipate seeing at all. It's more important to build up his work load in the minors this season.
  6. Not sure, but those guys work quickly and can put together an episode in less than a day. They're probably working on it as we type.
  7. South Park is going to be epic tonight....
  8. Feels like we've been waiting 2 years for Plouffe's value to be at a point where it's acceptable to trade him... Frankly I'm tired of waiting for this magical moment to happen.
  9. There's a good 3 year window where the Twins can afford a FA premium contract before Sano, Buxton, Kepler, etc. are due to become multi-millionaires. Teams don't transform from 60+ win teams to 90+ win teams overnight. They have to make improvements, get a little better, before jumping back into a sustained contender.
  10. Castro or Wieters works for me. Standing pat with Centeno/JRM would be the worst decision out of all the possibilities IMO...
  11. Agreed on Plouffe. I'm also tired of the Plouffe will rebuild has value argument. I'm not comfortable at all with a Centeno/JRM platoon, and think it's crucial to sign a defensive minded C to help the rotation. Centeno was very, very bad defensively last season. He doesn't hit well enough to make up for his lack of defensive abilities.
  12. This is a very cool feature. Thanks for sharing with us little TD minions!
  13. 2 episodes in on the Crown... Trying not to binge it and enjoy each episode. It's quite intriguing so far.
  14. Concur on The Crown. 1 episode in so far on a cold, rainy day here in Austin.
  15. It's the most expensive TV series produced at $130 million. Definitely adding this one to the list.
  16. As did I. 4 hours was long enough to invest in a baseball game.
  17. I enjoyed the commentary too.. Whenever he was able to get a word in... The broadcast booth was as balanced as a game called by Harry Doyle and Monte from Major League IMO. http://www.foxsports.com/content/dam/fsdigital/RSN/South/2015/02/17/QUOTES-major-league-HARRYDOYLE.vnocropresize.940.529.medium.31.jpg
  18. Understandable. My thought process is acquiring someone like Holland gives the Twins more flexibility to shop Santana and not rely on Mejia/Gonsalves to come in right away. For the price of a borderline prospect such as ABW, there's not a lot of risk to acquire Holland.
  19. FWIW, this was on the MLBTradeRumors chat: Adam 3:11 Who do you see the Rangers trading Holland for? Steve Adams 3:12 No one that great. Someone will pick up the tab on him and either send back a reliever with a not-insignificant price tag or some borderline prospects. Holland is a decent upside play because of the 2018 option, but with all of the shoulder injuries and knee problems over the past three years, his contract doesn't have much in the way of surplus value for 2017. I think exercising it (or trading him to a team that will) is the right call though.
  20. You may want to shield your eyes when some of these FAs sign this winter.... Also, don't even bother looking at basketball contracts. Those will make you question whether we're living in a fantasy land.
  21. Holland is a buy low pitcher I'd certainly be interested in acquiring. Toss them a prospect or 2 and see if he can bounce back.
  22. Season 5, man.... Season 5 went completely off the rails into utter non-sense.
  23. Why waste high quality material at the beginning of the off-season? It's best to save those gems during January when literally nothing else is going on... That'll kill a couple of weeks while we wait for real baseball to start again!
  24. iPhone is certainly on my radar too.. The biggest issues with Samsung is their battery life and overheating issues... I constantly close running apps in the background, and limit to 4-5 apps installed. Still doesn't matter. The battery is nearly drained by the end of the work day with average use (internet and phone calls mostly), and constantly overheats in my pocket. It really shouldn't be that hard to build a phone that can last a full day without charging it.... Ugh.
  25. It appears it's $300 with a new 2 year contract.... Still $799 retail price. I'm going to be on the market for a new cell phone after the holidays, and the Google Pixel is on the radar. I know for damn sure I'm done with Samsung. 2nd time getting a Galaxy iteration, and both models have started to fail 1.5 years after purchasing the phone.
