  1. Over 2,400 comments on the Star Tribune article I linked yesterday.... Shocked that so many people are outraged at the decision to fire Claeys.
  2. I'm happy they got rid of some of the old, curmudgeon HOF voters and are reconsidering players from the late 90's/early 00's.
  3. I hope to live long enough to see the demise of the NCAA.
  4. Until the NCAA seizes to exist I suppose. Which I hope is sooner rather than later.
  5. Yep, no doubt. But every university wants a chip, chair, and a chance at the BIG corporate money from these bowl games.
  6. I don't think Les Miles would come near this program TBH unless they give him a godfather offer of $7+ million... P.J. Fleck would be the first call to make. Tuned in and out of their game yesterday, and he looks like a motivating coach to play for. Charlie Strong maybe? Perhaps the lights were too bright to handle down here at UT. Even an outside the box hire like NDSU's head coach.
  7. Wow, so long Tracy Claeys. Promptly fired this afternoon. The three names mentioned in the Star Tribune article I linked: "Speculation is sure to start immediately on who will replace Claeys, with Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck, former LSU coach Les Miles and Boise State coach Bryan Harsin (a Coyle hire when he worked at Boise State) among the names expected to get tossed around."
  8. They're inside your mind and know what you want before you know you want it! You guys get the fun ads... I've got a big Sling TV ad on the right hand side of the screen, and an Uber Eats Austin ad on the top banner.
  9. Me too... Back then I didn't know anything about WAR or other defensive metrics. Just looked at BA, HRs, RBI, etc. I was pumped because I thought they finally found a power hitting DH! It's too bad he fell off a cliff as soon as he signed with the Twins.
  10. Those ad companies are getting really smart.... I hear they know what people search on google all the time. Sounds like they nailed it down for you!
  11. It felt like a Sherlock Christmas special last night.... Couldn't agree more with you Mike about Mary. I forgot she even existed as it's been a couple of seasons since she was involved with the show. Is this a 4 episode or 6 episode series? Either way, they need to get back to solving mysteries, and set up a final Sherlock vs. Moriarty show down..
  12. I'm with Ash... I'd expect an A/B reliever to be a contributor on a playoff team at the very least. None of these guys would have made a contender's playoff roster. Lone exception being one of the many LOOGYs they have.
  13. Sure would be nice to find a 3rd team willing to take Erv Santana to get a better haul of prospects.
  14. We need Brock to provide analysis on his favorite pitcher, Pat Dean.
  15. Concur. Robbie was a fine waiver wire claim and provided a spark when most of the team struggled to put the ball in play. I also believe last year was his ceiling... He was hovering ~.700 OPS prior to last season's explosion of .828 OPS. He would need to continue to be an .800+ OPS guy from here on out to provide much value. We're certainly not going to see value with his fielding abilities.
  16. I'm cranky from throwing out my back and not getting enough sleep. What's everyone else's excuse?
  17. Buxton and Kepler are the keys to the OF for the next playoff caliber team. Rosario IMO would be the ideal 4th OF, but I can understand giving him another shot to start in LF this year. No surprise, I want D Santana and Grossman off the team. Grossman because of putrid defense, and Santana because he does nothing well. Hopefully one (or both) of Palka and Granite does well to deserve a call up this season.
  18. Incredibly stupid move by McGhee.
  19. There it is. Finally won a bowl game thanks to the defense, Brooks, and Rodney Smith.
  20. Wish that would have been a pick 6... Alright Leidner, let's close out the last game of your career.
  21. Leidner fumbles. Weird.
  22. Just saw the same thing Dave did. Doogie had to have been fed a false report and ran with it.
  23. Where are the 2 top pitchers and a closer this year to compare it to 1987?
  24. My mom taught us how to play this afternoon on a rare rainy day here. It's actually pretty fun to play!
