  1. I don't doubt it. Their pitching, specifically SP, is brutal. They sacrificed everything, including the farm, for that title in 2015. Now it's going to be a loooong road to respectability for our friends down I-35.
  2. I have Verizon. No idea if the provider has something to do with it or not. The ads covering the comment bubble started happening to me yesterday.
  3. That's fair to say. Grossman had a better minor league track record compared to LaMarre (.770 OPS vs. .714 OPS) Still, there wasn't anything to indicate he'd be an .800+ OPS player and he did just that in 2016. I agree with you on seeing a need for a middle IF over a 5th OF. We'll see if there's someone intriguing enough to pick up.
  4. The ad makes you want to stop and think, hmm, do they know something that I don't?
  5. The ads have been covering the comment bubble on mobile...
  6. How many cute ST stories are sticking on the 25 man for Cleveland, New York, Boston, Seattle, and LA? Obviously I'm not down there every day to see the adjustments he's made, and if it's legit or a fluke. If they found a 5th OF out of no where, more power to them. As a stat geek, there's nothing in his past history that suggests he'll be a successful MLB player IMO.
  7. This is probably going to read in a negative way.... I'm not interested in cute spring training stories. This organization should be beyond that point. If LaMarre can make an impact better than other players, great! There's nothing in his past history that indicates he'll be better than Grossman or the other bench players.
  8. Ah, yeah I misunderstood. I thought the poster meant the context changed in regards to his chance to play more.
  9. Both the Twins and Reds tried doing exactly that. He'll be put on waivers again shortly.
  10. He wasn't going to take Polanco or Sano's PAs. He was going to get ~200 PAs either way.
  11. I don't see how the Polanco and Sano decisions affected Vargas coming back. Unless they're benching one of Morrison or Mauer, the situation is still the same.
  12. I'm glad this heated topic has a conclusion. Of course not all are going to agree with it, but the MLB did its due diligence and here we are. Thank God Twitter isn't a judge, jury, and executioner. Because Sano would have been burned at the stake back in December.
  13. Congrats Tom! You've really made an impact here! You deserve it.
  14. Clearly we're planning on winning by 7+ runs a lot this year!
  15. I'm guessing the infamous Tim Stauffer mop up role.
  16. Mentioning Johan Santana and Tyler Kinley in the same thought is as preposterous as it gets.
  17. I'm not sure if he knows every prospect gunning for his job. He certainly knows Nick Gordon from spring training this season. All I can think of is personal experience in sports. The senior knew I was working extremely hard as a sophomore to start over him. And vice versa. I knew the sophomore wanted to start over me when I was a senior.
  18. Well yeah. They probably liked him in a utility role getting 200-ish PAs. It's a different story playing him every day.
  19. Right. So we're supposed to feel bad for Dominicans not knowing any better because they're in poverty. What about Billy Johnson (hypothetical name) that grew up dirt poor in Taylor, Mississippi? He didn't know any better right? What about Tommy Johnson that grew up in Edina, MN and had everything handed to him on a silver platter. He definitely should know better than to take PEDs to get ahead in life.
