  1. This isn’t exactly the news I wanted to wake up to. Disappointing, to say the least. These contracts that Boras is negotiating are ruining Major League Baseball.
  2. Awesome! Thanks everyone! Rumor: Rumor has it, the keg stand competition starts at 4:01 with @Brock Beauchamp and @wsnydesleading the way
  3. I’m ambivalent about the deal. I do wonder what we’re going to say about him in years 2 and 3 of the contract. I doubt he’ll be a league average bat now and in the future.
  4. You could be right. Not sure about Soderstrom’s status in real life. He’s also rated 30/80 as a catcher in the game so he’s probably not a defensive juggernaut in real life either.
  5. The A’s have a nice catcher pipeline in the minors with Tyler Soderstrom and Daniel Susac. They always develop well in OOTP ?
  6. Pictured: The Ryan Jeffers fan club that purchased season tickets solely for him
  7. I’m perfectly fine waiting out the catcher market. For me, there’s not a significant difference between Vazquez, Roberto Perez, Tucker Barnhardt, etc. Sounds like Vazquez is waiting to see who will offer a 3rd or 4th year on their contract offer. No thanks.
  8. Swanson should only be a plan B, and a distant one at that. Per the last Gleeman and the Geek podcast he’s in no rush to sign anywhere. Marriage and a honeymoon will do that to a person.
  9. Carlos Correa is left for the Twins. Just get a deal done with him.
  10. Keep beating that dead horse. Correa’s decision is the most important key to the Twins’ offseason. If we somehow miss out on him and Swanson, it will be a disaster. We all have better odds of winning the Powerball over Falvey offering a 6-7 year contract for Rodon.
  11. I’ll rehash my old trade proposal during the 2022 July deadline: - One of Arraez or Polanco - One of Wallner or Larnach - One of Balazovic or SWR should be enough to get Lopez…
  12. No interest at all. Left handed and breathing is the only thing going for him.
  13. Yep. There is no secret sauce. It’s literally the philosophical difference between an owner running the team like a business vs. an owner who wants to bring joy to the community. @Game7-91 had an excellent thread a couple of months ago highlighting this exact philosophical difference.
  14. No doubt that Arraez is one of, if not the most entertaining player on roster. His personality stands out amongst the crowd. You’re right though - it’s trading Arraez at his highest value. In order to retain Arraez, the FO needs to be confident he’s a consistent .315-.330 better. The margin for error is razor thin with him without any power. If he ends up being a .290 hitter, then it’s like we’re clamoring for Jason Tyner to remain a DH on this team.
  15. 10/$326 (just a hair more than Seager) 8/$272 - $34 million AAV 6/$216 - $36 million AAV Hopefully options like this are on the table right now. Let’s get something done.
  16. There are some other larger markets that could jump in the mix… Toronto, San Diego, Seattle, one of the Chicago teams. I will say, it’s quite telling that San Francisco is radio silent in their efforts to retain him.
  17. Term length hasn’t been too much of an issue for the large market teams. They can write off the loss much easier than mid market teams. If they really want Rodon, they’ll meet the 6 years. Hell, even tack on a 7th year as leverage.
  18. He’s the last remaining front line SP on the free agent market. Let the bidding war begin… I think he gets the 6 years, maybe an opt out after year 3 or 4, at $35+ million AAV.
  19. Whoops. Forgot that Rumor is automatically added to the title.
  20. This isn't going to be popular in Twins Territory but Dan Hayes is reporting that the Twins are shopping Luis Arraez in return for a frontline starter. Is a frontline starter worth losing the reigning AL batting champion? View full rumor

  22. No surprise, the Yankees are interested in Reynolds.
  23. An offer of Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee, and Emmanuel Rodriguez maybe gets your call returned from Pittsburgh… More than likely he stays put until the trade deadline at least.
