  1. I can also be easily convinced trading Kirk now is the correct call and the Vikings sign someone like Jacoby Brissett. We’ll probably end up going 5-12 with that path but it opens up the possibility of drafting a top QB in 2024.
  2. Ordering this in my preference… - Tack on one more year to his contract so you can FOR SURE trade him next offseason. - Trade him this offseason for whatever you can get. I think he can fetch at least a 2nd round pick. MAYBE a 2024 1st round pick. - Play out the last year of his contract and risk him walking for nothing more than a comp pick. (mountain sized gap) - Extend him for multiple seasons.
  3. You’re beary cute. Be my Valentine? ❤️ I’ll see myself out now…
  4. After all of these years together, I’m still in awe of you ❤️
  5. You’ve slid head first into my heart, babe ❤️
  6. Babe, without you I’d be more lost than Miguel Sano playing RF ❤️
  7. Knock knock. Who’s there? Eephus. Eephus who? Let’s Eephus heart shaped pizza and watch trashy TV on the couch together. Love, Willians Astudillo ❤️
  8. Being your valentine makes my heart beat faster than an Emilio Pagan appearance in the 9th inning, babe ❤️
  9. 3 full seasons played before fixing his shoulder? Maybe I’m jumping to conclusions, but it looks like he’s getting prepared to pass a physical with another team…
  10. Resurrecting this old thread because of a recent article I came across. The Padres, who play in Major League Baseball’s fifth-smallest media market, are taking in so much money that they expect to for the first time ever be a payor into the league’s revenue sharing program. “I think it’s a validation of the approach that if you invest in the team on the field and you create a compelling and winning product, the fans will respond,” Padres CEO Erik Greupner said last week. “I think that was always in the forefront of Peter’s mind when he initiated that strategy.”
  11. Things that fueled the 2nd half surge: - Getting rid of Joe Smith who has awful (-0.9 fWAR) and reducing Jharel Cotton to emergency call up (-0.5 fWAR) - Caleb Thielbar and Jhoan Duran pitching like peak Mariano Rivera. - Pagan pitching the lowest leverage innings as humanly possible. Baldelli can only work with the arms provided to him by the FO. My concern about being 2-3 good arms short in the bullpen is becoming an annual tradition.
  12. It rarely ever works out. Just ask the Titans GM that got fired for trading AJ Brown and taking Treylon Burks as the the replacement.
  13. As the Strib pointed out, Jared Allen got snubbed. As did Kevin Williams again. And the best KR/PR specialist of all time, Devin Hester.
  14. Or LV (Harry Ruggs) or Denver (Jerry Jeudy). We would be HATING the Diggs trade as much as the Moss trade if it were any other way besides Jefferson getting drafted.
  15. I posted in the Sano threads at the end of the 2022 season he’s going to have a tough time getting an MLB contract. It’s been a long winter for him and I anticipate that continuing. When you can’t catch up to fastballs in the zone, your time is up in MLB.
  16. We must have paid Flores handsomely to convince him not to do the 2nd interview with Arizona.
  17. If he does get a HC gig next year he likely turned our defense from a 31st ranked team to top 15.
  18. Love it. I’m hoping for a major leap forward from Asamoah.
  19. That is a relief. All systems go for the 3-4 defense.
  20. This is not going well finding a new DC.
  21. Wow. That is quite the fall from grace for Balazovic. I’ve got higher hopes for the former top 100 prospect this year.
  22. They’ll be able to get out of cap hell pretty easily when they let go of some long time veterans.
  23. B-Ref is usually my go to. I’m used to the UI and I like the easy access to splits stats. FanGraphs is good when I want to know velocities and pitch mixes. I truly don’t know enough about the WAR difference on either site to have an opinion. It’s just a quick way to determine value. I rarely go to Baseball Savant. They have a terrible interface on mobile devices.
