    I would argue just about any professional baseball player can pick up a 1B mitt and ramp up quickly to play passable defense. We just witnessed it last year with Gold Glove award winning 1B Luis Arraez.

    Do you think Pace will get his snaps in the middle? I thought he’s an edge rusher. Boy, that’s a young, potentially bad CB room. Career defining seasons ahead for Booth Jr, Evans, and Williams.

    I have minimal interest seeing Buxton again until he can play in the field. Ideally; the staff puts together a plan for him to play CF short time for a playoff run. If he can’t play this year; then move forward with a plan (likely involving a major surgery) to get him on the field in 2024.

    It’s crazy to think how much college football has changed since this thread began in 2015. It’s basically professional sports with NIL deals and the alignment of super conferences. All geography considerations being thrown out the window. The sport is quickly transitioning to a 2 conference league. I’d guess in the next 5 years we’ll be down to 40 ish universities that can compete financially in the super conferences and the rest won’t matter. I have my doubts the Gophers can keep up in the future.

    Sounds like Kwesi found another undrafted gem this year. Everyone I follow on Twitter that talks/reports Vikings is raving about OLB Ivan Pace Jr.

    I still have concerns about this FO and Baldelli, but if they win the division easily and win a playoff series, they’ll be back.

    There really is no excuse why the Twins can’t win the division by 10+ games. Also, this team makes way more sense with Buxton on the IL and not clogging up the DH spot.

    I could argue Tim Anderson and Jose Ramirez should have gotten a few more games suspended.

    Exactly. Gallo was a reasonable gamble to hopefully bounce back to a 4 WAR ish player and either flip him for prospects or keep him for a playoff stretch. Neither of those things happened and he’s been mostly a disaster since his hot 2 week stretch in April.

    Thanks @wsnydes. I’m reporting live 10 minutes west of Target Field and can confirm…. It’s cloudy. There’s a haze in the air today and I don’t know if it’s Canadian wildfire smoke, marijuana smoke, or just a normal haze we had before. No sign of moisture just yet, but if you’re going to Target Field, bring the largest umbrella you have. The person behind you will thank you for shielding them at the game.     Great day all around! Always fun when so many Twins legends are at the same place on the same day. Rumor has it, everyone in the lineup had a 15 minute pregame session with Mauer’s Quick Swing. The results speak for them self!

    It’s rare to see two baseball players drop the gloves and square up like boxers on the field. So far it looks like a bizarre situation that is unclear why it happened. Ramirez wins the fight via TKO in round 1. More to come, obviously.

    For the time being, it’s a blessing. The goal needs to be getting him to the point where he can play in the field full time in 2024. If it requires a more severe, intrusive surgery, get er done.

    The timing couldn’t have worked out better for me to be a life long Joe Mauer fan. I was 14 and sports, sports, sports, my whole life was just sports. I don’t collect autographs anymore, but one thing I do have and will keep for life is a 2003 spring training program signed by Joe.
